What you need to know about Running

Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

New for 2018, we have added a beast of a route. This is the toughest Inov-8 X Series route on our calendar, with over 2300m of elevation, it's 300m higher than the Inov-8 Snowdonia X Series event! That should give you some idea of the challenge that awaits you here in Devon.

We are sending you along part of The South West Coast Path which is England's longest waymarked long-distance footpath and a National Trail. It stretches for 630 miles (1,014 km), running from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset. Since it rises and falls with every river mouth, it is also one of the more challenging trails. The total height climbed has been calculated to be 114,931 ft (35,031 m), almost four times the height of Mount Everest

The route starts at Caffyns Farm and heads along the coast path at Lynton, you will be met with towering cliffs and stunning sea views across to South Wales. Soak up the stunning sounds of seabirds nesting on the cliffs. As you venture along the coast you will enter the valley of rocks, a superb section of coast path well know for its herds of feral goats. This section is among the oldest Devonian rocks in north Devon and is highly fossil ferrous.

As you continue on your way you will become lost in the splendour. We take you to Foreland Point, a rocky headland which is the most northerly point along the Devon and Exmoor coastline.

The route then sweeps back inland towards some special forested sections that make you feel like you're back in the heart of Devon. One stand out area is Watersmeet, we know you will be enchanted by this section of the route. There are many other hidden gems on the Exmoor X Series event, we dont want to spoil it too much for you, so come and join us! The outdoors awaits...

Starting on the bank of the Usk river in the market town of Brecon, the Beacons100 ultra marathon will take you on a journey across the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains, an area we absolutely adore due to its beautiful scenery, and unforgiving terrain.

In a similar fashion to our winter event, the Beacons Ultra, you will find very tough terrain, fell in abundance, changeable weather conditions and the finest support to get you to the finish line. Completion = 6 UTMB points for your efforts.

To enter the Beacons100 it is expected that you will have completed a minimum of one 40 mile trail event in the 2017/2018 season and you can navigate effectively. We will host free navigation and footcare seminars leading up the event so if you are unsure about your navigation ability don't let that put you off. We welcome runners and hikers alike. Be aware that this is an incredibly tough adventure!

The Beacons 100 will begin at 20.00hrs on the 17th of August with a cut off time of 18.00hrs on the 19th of August.

Glastonbury is a town in South West England. It's known for its ancient and medieval sites, many rich in myth. Glastonbury Tor is a tower-topped hill linked to Arthurian legend, overlooking the marshy Somerset Levels. Once said to be King Arthurs burial place, Glastonbury Abbey is a ruined monastery dating to the 7th century. Nearby, centuries-old Glastonbury Tribunal has a museum with Iron Age artefacts.

The event is a 5 mile loop around the drove ways of the somerset levels, a stunning run on flat (Pan flat) and safe (Limited traffic), tarmacked road, if you're doing the 10 mile run or 10 mile CHALLENGE (TMC), you will do two laps.

This event, the most recent addition to the Great Run Series, comes with its own distinguished history. First staged in 1989, and known as the Bristol Half Marathon, the city centre run has become a tradition in the national running calendar. Over 10,000 runners every year make this a must-do event, with an atmosphere second to none. The scenic sea-level course starts and finishes in Bristol's historic Harbourside, taking runners out and back through the stunning Avon Gorge, around the old city, and twice under Brunel's famous Clifton Suspension Bridge.

This genuinely epic ultra starts in Lynmouth and finishes in Ivybridge (100 miles) with the option of continuing to Wembury if you finish within 30 hours (111 miles). You will run through the night and anyone who gets to Ivybridge inside 24 hours will receive a special prize!

This is a very challenging self navigation ultra, and isn't to be taken lightly. You'll be crossing two national parks: Exmoor in the north of Devon, Mid Devon and Dartmoor National Park, following the recently relaunched Two Moors Way. Despite the minimal ascent, only experienced ultra runners or participants with good navigation skills will be accepted. Even in September, good weather can not be assured and parts of the route can become boggy.

Dont be fooled, this is no baby ultra! Its a fully fledged Dartmoor Crossing, following the Two Moors Way, which will require self navigation skills.
