What you need to know about Running

Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

This course is so pretty we thought we'd give you the opportunity to savour it twice. The Ranscombe Spring Challenge will have the 'classic' Ranscombe loop of around 3.8 miles, hopefully with the addition of bluebells as we're holding the event in April this year. That's the Saturday event - hilly, possibly a bit muddy, challenging. For the Sunday Ramble - same venue, same time limit, slightly different event though. Longer, tougher, 6.5 mile loop, even more hills, possibly muddy, some lovely long downhills, but you'll have to earn them, there'll be a fair bit of climb, but also a fair bit of descent. 8/9 April.

TIn fact the course is so pretty we thought we'd give you the opportunity to savour it for even longer this event has a time limit of eight hours to run as many of the 3.74 mile laps as you can or want!

For the Ranscombe Spring Challenge we'll have the "classical" Ranscombe loop of around 3.7.4 miles, hopefully with the addition of Bluebells as we're holding the event in later April this year. That's the Saturday event, hilly, possibly a bit muddy, challenging.

For the Sunday, same venue, same time limit, slightly different event though, the Rachel's Ranscombe Ramble! A bit of a variation of the standard lap to make it marginally flatter and hopefully see more of the bluebells and other flowers that hopefully will be on view on what will still be quite challenging course. Oh and a very different medal for the Sunday.
