Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

The annual ROC 5K (3 mile) Charity Fun Run will take place after work on Tuesday 26 June 2018 starting and finishing at Lemon Quay, Truro. This is the fifth year of the run and it raised just over 15,000 last year. We will be raising funds again for the ROC Wellbeing Social Club in Truro and for IT equipment for the Chapel, Wheal Busy near Chasewater.

Starting on the beach at the west end of Hayle, Cornwall, just below the bluff This off road 10k runs the complete length of the beach before turning inland and tackling the sand dunes of Hayle Towans. Beautiful scenery surrounds you whilst you follow long trodden paths and you are eventually faced with the dune. A steep, long sand dune that you will have to climb but you will be rewarded at the top with the most magnificent views overlooking St Ives bay as the sun starts to set. There will also be for fun run.

The St Levan 10k is a popular Summers evening fixture on the Cornish road running calendar with a field of around 350 competitors (made up of approximately 50% locals and 50% holiday-makers) taking part annually.

The event is noted for its friendly village sports feel and family atmosphere, with anything up to 100 children taking part in the associated 2 mile race. The race is sponsored by The Logan Rock Inn, a well known local watering hole, where many a post race inquest has been held over a meal and several pints of Cornish ale. Facilities at St Levan playing field are excellent, with ample parking, refreshments, toilets and changing rooms.

Now in its 14th year the more windswept and, some might say, interesting younger sibling of the Jurassic Coast Challenge. The route starts near Padstow and finishes at Lands End. Complete up to 78.6 miles (3 marathons) over 3 days by walking, running or crawling, putting your mental and physical prowess against some of the wildest coastlines in Britain.

Dare to complete 1, 2 or 3 days. Every Atlantic Coast Challenge starter receives an event T-shirt and every finisher receives a classic challenge medal and Cornish Pasty. Monday morning proof to your work colleagues or family that you completed the toughest 3-day Votwo challenge!

The routes include some of the most picturesque parts of Cornwall.

The stunning location, quiet roads and breathtaking views make this one of the most scenic rides in the country as the wrap-around coast means that riders will never be far from the sea. They say location is everything, and the Lands End 100 has it all, cycling around the South West peninsula is an unforgettable experience.

A choice of three distances are available; 100 miles, 100km and 75km. All routes will start and finish at Marazion and will all go to Lands End with the long route also making its way around The Lizard peninsula.
