What you need to know about Running

Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

The race provides a unique opportunity to run a one-lap course of approximately 6 miles, in the picturesque surroundings of the Maristow Estate, across open moorland on a well-marshaled course with one water station. Toilets and local shops are situated nearby (additional toilets also available at start area). Parking, refreshments, and baggage storage are available. Due to the terrain, this race is not suitable for wheelchair competitors.

The race route will start and finish at King's Tamerton Community Centre and is a multi-terrain undulating course on woodland track, riverside path, and roadside pavement.

The races consist of a 1-mile fun run (which all ages and abilities can enter) and a 7-mile Trotter (which is open to runners aged 16 and above). Everyone who completes the fun run receives a medal. Runners in the main race receive a goodie bag stashed with all sorts of stuff, including a race T-shirt. Race results for the main race are provided on the day. Results for both races are posted on this website by the morning of the Monday after the race.
