What you need to know about Running

Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

Today, with international organisations, local clubs and national events to choose from, there are thousands of races to discover, and we want to help you find them quickly and easily. Below you’ll find selections by running type, running location and some exceptional events to take part in.

Back for the 3nd year in the Cotswold Hills, Britains first and biggest AONB, as well as the most quintessentially English place weve ever seen! Leaving from the grand Sudeley Castle in the heart of the Cotswold Hills and set in 1200 acres of estate land, this wont be a walk in the park. Sitting nicely down in the bottom of a valley, the only way is up. Itll be worth it though as the surrounding area is everything youd expect to see from rural middle England. With technical single track, wooded trails and some locally famous national routes on the Cotswold Way, Gloucestershire Way and the Winchcombe Way. The course wont allow you to switch off for a second, but youll be thankful for that as itll allow you to take in your surroundings which you wont want to miss.

Why not bring the family to take a wander around the beautiful Castle and Gardens. Sudeley is the only privately owned castle in England to have a queen buried in the garden Katherine Parr, 6th wife of Henry VIII.

Location: Sudeley Castle, Castle Street, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, GL54 5JD

Race the Neighbours is North London's friendliest 10k race - with a little neighbourly rivalry for added spice! It's 10 stunning kilometres through East Finchley and Muswell Hill (most of the run is off road) and we have a warm community feel which has people running with us year after year.

This is Race the Neighbours' fourth glorious year, taking place on 1st July 2018, and once again starting and ending in our home turf of Cherry Tree Wood, N2. While we have an N2 v N10 competition, you don't need to be from Muswell Hill or East Finchley to enter, you just need to fancy a fun 10k run through our beautiful leafy suburbs.

Runners from all over North London (and a good few from further afield) have taken part in our first three events, with over 450 entering in 2017. This has led to huge interest for 2018, places are limited and filling quickly, so if you want to take part - book now!
