Finish off the summer season with this beachside triathlon in Port Phillip Bay. Great for beginners and triathlon veterans alike, the pan-flat course sticks to the bayside. Come along to celebrate the end of the season with friends and family.

    Elwood is race number 4 of the 2XU Triathlon Series, Victoria's premier and most popular series. This series provides first-timers, tri-kids, age groupers and elites with high-quality safe events in an exciting and fun atmosphere. In this event, held on Sunday 3rd February 2019 at Elwood Park, there are 3 races: The Sprint, The Fun Tri, and the Tri-Kids!

    Free Tips & Tricks

    The Tri-Alliance will hold a FREE Tips & Tricks Clinic in the event village on Saturday before the event between 12.30pm and 2.00pm. The clinic covers all areas of triathlon racing to ensure you have a smooth, hassle free and enjoyable race.

    Course Details

    Sprint Series

    Minimum age of 15

    Swim: 750m

    Bike: 20km

    Run: 5km

    Fun Tri

    The Fun Tri Series welcomes triathlon beginners from ages 12 and over.

    Swim: 250m

    Bike: 10km

    Run: 3km

    Kids Tri

    Carman’s Kids Tri  is a great introduction to triathlon and welcomes all kids between the ages 7-11 to give it a go!

    Swim: 100m

    Bike: 3km

    Run: 500m

    Suggested Triathlon Race Day Checklist

    General 

    • Gear bag
    • Race kit – swim cap, stickers, wrist & timing band)
    • Watch or heart rate monitor & band
    • Energy bars, gels & fluids
    • Sunscreen
    • Talcum powder (for shoes)
    • Vaseline (to prevent chaffing)
    • Race belt (if wearing a race number

    Swim 

    • Swim suit or tri suit
    • Transition towel
    • Goggles x2
    • Swim cap
    • Wetsuit
    • Body glide, baby oil or vaseline to help remove wetsuit
    • Ear and nose plugs if required

    Bike 

    • Bike and helmet (entry will be refused if not of an appropriate standard)
    • Bike shoes or runners
    • Water bottles x2
    • Sunglasses
    • Bike computer
    • Socks (if required)
    • Track pump
    • Tool bag with square tubes and repair tools
    • Race wheels
    • Electrical tape

    Run 

    • Running shoes with elastic laces
