Wherever you look theres a sea of people across the most picturesque course in Australia. Perths best natural assets are on the show starting from the colonial heritage of St Georges Tce and finishing on the lush parklands with ocean views, City Beach Oval. The marathon and half marathon traverses past the crystal waters of the Swan River, the iconic Old Swan Brewery and through the scenic route of the botanical wonder of Kings Park, with a view of the spectacular skyline across the City. The 12km runners head up the hill that runners love to hate past Kings Park and then into the lively streets of Subiaco where everyone comes out of their shops to support you. The family friendly 4km course joins onto the tail of everyone starting in Mclean Park, Floreat before heading over the hill to see that million-dollar view of the ocean. Whatever your distance you will achieve an amazing goal supporting Activ and see the views that make Perth so special.

What’s Included

Event T-Shirts

In 2018, for the first time ever the Chevron City to Surf for Activ is offering a limited edition, Free Event Shirt with every registration, which you will collect along with your Race Bib at Race Bib Collection.

Participants of the marathon and half marathon will also receive a ‘Finisher’ Shirt, which will be available for collection at the Marathon Recovery Tent.

Raceday Logistics

Race Bib Collection

Where: Lords Recreation Centre, Subiaco 6008
When: Friday 24 August 7:30am-7:00pm; Saturday 25 August 8:00am-5:00pm

To collect your Race Bib show your E-Ticket, which is emailed to you in the weeks prior.

If you’re collecting a Race Bib on behalf of a friend or family, you’re required to show their E-Ticket as Race Bibs won’t be issued without this. If you’re collecting multiple Race Bibs, please be patient and allow extra time.

Participants aren’t allowed on the course without a Race Bib. Your Race Bib must be worn on the front of your shirt and must be clearly visible.

Any medical conditions must be clearly detailed on the back of your Race Bib, along with emergency contact details.

The Race Bibs are fitted with timing technology, so please don’t bend it. Race Bibs aren’t available for collection on event day.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start time to warm up, stretch, find your family, friends or team and take in the atmosphere!

The half marathon, 12km and 4km events are in waves, to maximise your participation, enjoyment and safety and is based on your speed. Please assemble in your assigned wave

Clothing Service

A clothing service for half marathon and marathon participants is available on event day at the Clothing Service tent, at the Perth CBD Start Line. This service is also available at the Race Bib Collection Expo prior to event day.

You’ll receive a clear plastic bag for your belongings, for security reasons backpacks or personal bags aren’t accepted. Clothing Service tags are at the bottom of your race bib – you should affix this tag to the bag. All dropped clothing will be available for collection at the Marathon Recovery Tent (see finish precinct map for location, coming soon).

Our ‘Give Your Kit’ initiative supports those less fortunate and participants are encouraged to wear old clothes to the event and donate them to charity. Put your old hoodies, jumpers and tracksuits in the ‘Give Your Kit’ trailer at the Perth start line. Note – these clothes will not be returned to the Finish Precinct.

Course Restrictions

You’ll need a Race Bib to participate and it must be clearly visible on the front of your shirt. If you’re not wearing a Race Bib you won’t be allowed on the course.

Bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades/skates or similar aren’t permitted on the course, with the exception of wheelchairs in the 4km Wheelchair event.

While we love our furry friends, animals including dogs aren’t permitted on the course, except assistance dogs. Drones aren’t permitted to be flown above the course.

We encourage families to participate including parents with prams/strollers. Prams/strollers are only allowed in 4km and 12km run, walk or roll. For safety reasons, all participants with prams/strollers must be entered into the final wave. If children in prams will also walk within the course, they must be registered as participants.

Finish Precinct

Celebrate With Your Team Post Event At The Finish Precinct. Kick back and relax after running, walking or rolling over the finish line with your team. Teams can purchase a Marquee at the beautiful City Beach Oval Finish Precinct, here participants can have a bite to eat, re-hydrate and celebrate with their team.

Runners Etiquette

Start within your designated wave, with faster runners at the front and slower participants behind.

If you’re walking in a large group, keep to the back of your wave.

Keep to the left of the course to allow people to pass on the right.

Avoid collisions and accidents with those behind you, don’t stop or change directions suddenly.

Be mindful of others when you grab fluids from an aid station, don’t block others from accessing it.

Throw your cups as close to the aid station as possible, drop it to your side or away from other participants and spectators.

If you need to spit, move to the side of the course and aim away from participants and spectators.

Be courteous and encouraging to your fellow participants.

Always follow the directions of all event staff, including volunteers and emergency service personnel.
