This event is to be held at the picturesque Forbes aquatic centre. A swim through Lake Forbes will be followed by a very flat and fast cycle leg out the Bedgerabong road and back. The very flat run leg will follow the nicely shaded sealed walking track around lake Forbes before finishing back through the Aquatic centre for recovery. This event promises to have something for everyone from beginners to half serious to very serious.

FAQs

Who will be timekeeping at this year’s event?

The Club has engaged Steve Martin of Precision Sports Timing (PST) to take care of the timekeeping function on the day. As part of PST’s process, timing bands will be used on the day and secured around each athlete’s ankle. Teams will receive one timing band only which will need to be transferred between athletes in transition. Post race, athletes will be able to review their individual splits for swim, bike and run including transition times. Timing bands will be included in race packs which will be available on Saturday afternoon (time and location TBA) or from 6.30am on the morning of the event.

What is included with registration?

If you enter the long course event prior to the 2nd November 2018 you will receive a FREE Forbes Crocs Half Ironman t-shirt!

  • Did the Super Sprint in 2018

More signage so participants know what way to go in regards to which race they are competing in. when people were transitioning from bike to run there was some confusion in which direction people had to go and some people were directed in the wrong direction, maybe signage instead of people directing as this seemed to cause confusion. the competitors new their race by distance but people directing were calling it the race name and I noticed some competitors especially in the long course would end up going in the wrong direction.
  • Did the Super Sprint in 2018

The race was great but I didn't like the finish part. As soon as I finished no one handed me a water or any hydration instead I had people trying to get my timing chip off me. Also disappointed there was no medal received at all, so no acknowledgement of even doing the race or getting anything apart from the silly Forbes bag and brochures. Also the award ceremony for all races was very delayed and alot of people left before it began. And also very annoyed that the committee dont where any vests to stand out when people need a hand. And I reckon just an idea for future events if they should do the swim leg in the local town pool and dedicate it for the whole day instead of the dirty filthy lake/ski dam.
  • Did the Super Sprint in 2018

It was my first triathlon and the event was very welcoming and well organised. This made my first experience stress free and very enjoyable, making me want to come back to do another one.
  • Did the Crocs Challenge in 2018

Good day out - my biggest issue was the price. I overheard a conversation with a representative of the club who made a comment about zero overhead costs to run the race. All things considered, no tshirt, no medal, the aid stations were very basic, the people working them didn't really seem interested, AND people ran different run courses. I think it was far too expensive given a regular club race only costs us $20 in Bathurst. All that said and done, glad I went and supported our club, would be great to see Forbes Crocs get into the interclub series!!!
  • Did the Crocs Challenge in 2018

Had a great race despite a flat, a Cowra guy gave me his tube, lifesaver, wouldnt happen in the city. Lovdd the course, good to see the locals taking back control. I have done every Forbes race, even back in the 80s, its extremely disappointing to see the lack of support from the other clubs in the region, particularly my Orange club considering their available numbers. Hopefully in the future something along the lines of the riverina tri series could be organised or possibly even joining that series if people around here are unwilling. Will b back next year whatever happens!!
