This is the Sydney Duathlon Series, which is being held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre at Penrith. Registration and transition are located on the ‘island’, west of the grandstand.
How to enter the Hills Triathlon Club Duathlon

Hills Triathlon Club Duathlon routes
RUN 1:
5km– Sprint
2km - Enticer and 12 years
1km - Juniors 10-11 years
500m – Juniors 7-9 years
SPRINT: The first run will be a complete lap of the Regatta Centre main competition lake in an anti-clockwise direction on the inner pedestrian path. You will start on the main road which will merge into a single lane prior to crossing the bridge from the island. You will follow the road until directed onto the pedestrian path on the far side of the competition lake. Please keep to the left unless passing another competitor.
ENTICER, 12 YEARS & 10-11 YEAR JUNIORS: The first run will be along the north side of the Regatta Centre lake and will be an out and back course starting from the same place as the sprint. The first run is 2 laps. You run out to the sign for your age group, run back to transition and loop around the path at the far end of transition, you then got back out to the turn around sign before heading into transition.
7-9 YEAR JUNIORS: You will start on the main road hill and run onto the footpath that leads around the front of the lake, you will then run up to the finish chute and into transition.
TRANSITION 1: Run 1 to Cycle
At the completion of first run leg, you will run through the finish line to enter transition.
CYCLE:
20km – Sprint
10km - Enticer and Juniors 12 years
5 km - Juniors 10-11yrs
3 km – Juniors 7-9 years
The cycle course is a loop around the competition lake which is 5km long in an anti-clockwise direction.
Sprint = 20 kms = 4 laps
Enticer & Juniors = 2 laps
10-11 years = 1 lap
The 7 -9- year junior event cycle legs exits transition along the running path and follows the path past the grandstand, once past the grandstand, veer left then turn right onto the cycle path. Cycle out to a turn- around point (just before the bridge) then turn around. Follow the cycle path around the back of the grandstand and up over the hill to transition. Stay right at all times when going to and from the turn point.
You must overtake on the righthand side of another cyclist and must cycle to the left side of the course except when overtaking.
Please note that, while the Regatta Centre is closed to all vehicular traffic there may be pedestrians or other cyclists on the course. Competitors must be alert to the possibility of encountering a pedestrian at all times and must be prepared to give way to any pedestrians if a collision is possible.
TRANSITION 2 - Cycle to Run 2:
At the completion of cycle leg, ensure you dismount your bike before the dismount line and then proceed to the bike entry point. Do not take your helmet off until the bike is fully racked in its original position. Teams will need to transfer the timing chip to the runner’s left ankle at the designated team change point.
RUN 2:
2.5km– Sprint
1km - Enticer and 12 years
500m - Juniors 10-11 years
500m – Juniors 7-9 years
The course for Run 2 is the sealed path on the Northern edge of the main competition lake and is an out and back course of a single lap for each distance. All competitors MUST run on the right-hand side of this run course.
FINISH LINE:
After crossing the Finish Line, please remove your timing chip and hand it to a race official at the finish chute. You will then move into a finish area where refreshments will be available for you.
