The Hume & Hovell Ultra is an ultra marathon conducted along part of the Hume & Hovell Walking Track. The walking track follows as closely as possible the historic route taken by Explorers Hume & Hovell on their 1824 expedition to Port Phillip Bay. The track is managed by Department of Primary Industries from the Wagga Wagga office. The walking track starts at Cooma Cottage near Yass and finishes at the Hovell Tree in Albury, some 440 km in length.

Hume and Hovell Ultramarathon routes

The Start and finish is at Henry Angel Trackhead, some 9km south from Tumbarumba on the Tooma Road. The track is a mixture of constructed walking track and fire trails. The highest point is over 1200 metres in elevation, with many scenic natural attraction along the course including Buddong Falls, Paddys River Dam, alpine snow gums, and Mannus Lake.

Race Day Check In

Compulsory Safety Equipment Check

100 mile and 100 km can check in at Tumbarumba Motel on 2 Albury Close Tumbarumba between 4.30 pm and 7 pm on Friday or at Henry Angel Trackhead between 5.00 am and 5.45 am on Saturday. Please do not arrive late. It will take time to check your safety gear.

50 km runners can check in at Tumbarumba Motel on 2 Albury Close Tumbarumba between 4.30 pm and 7 pm on Friday or at Henry Angel Trackhead between 7.30 am and 8.30 am. Please do not arrive late.

22km runners check in at Henry Angel Trackhead from 8.45 – 9.30 am. Please do not arrive late as the bus will be departing at 9:45am sharp.

Race Briefing

Race briefing for the 50km, 100km and 100 miler will be at 7:00pm on the Friday night at the Tumbarumba Motel. Race briefing for the 22km will be at 10:15am on the Saturday at the start line at Mannus Campsite.
