From the second I parked at the event I felt the comradary of other runners,as I followed everyone else to the start. Nerves were washed away chatting to others who were just out to experience the trail & challenge themselves. The course was for me very challenging in the first half with a lot of uphill, but just when the head started to say I cant do this there was a break & I could run, the hills were forgotten as you looked around you at the beautiful surroundings and you got into the rhythm of the run, you can hear the vollies cheering you on as you get closer to the aid station and the splashes of cold water provide welcome relief. There is no feeling like coming down to the finish & knowing that you didnt give up that you did it. If you're like me and new to trails & wondering if you should give it a go ... yes you definitely should.
