Course Details

Day 1 at Jolly Nose MTB Park

The Jolly Nose MTB trails are normally off limits for runners because of the danger in colliding with mountain bike riders but luckily,  have you have special permission from the Hastings Valley Mountain Bike Riders to experience a run on this trail. Both the run distances (5.5k and 11k) will be started together & ran around a 5.5km circuit consisting of both technical single track and open fire road with some hills thrown in for good measure.

Day 2 at Bago Vineyards

Day 2 will be a half marathon trail run from the Bago Vineyards that will test runners as they ascend to the top of Bago Bluff where they can take in the awesome views of the valley below while traversing along the top of the cliff on rocky fire roads before descending back down to the singletrack through the Bago Vineyards property to the finish where you can relax in the vineyard atmosphere as the mountain bike riders finish their 50km marathon ride on day 2 before presentations get underway.

Being an event marshal is an ideal way to see the event first hand (before competing yourself) or as a means of offering your skills to assist our local events. References will be provided to you if needed.

Volunteers at our events will play key roles including the following:

Feed Zone staff - Zones, hand out drink bottles and food, offer support and cheer the riders on.
Timing Staff - Help with a close knit team on event day by using our recording equipment.
Course Marshals - Guide competitors around the course safely, while also providing information to the public not involved with the event.
Bump in Bump out Staff - Help put the whole event together by assisting with the event village set up or course marking.
Sweep Riders - ride behind the last competitors making sure everyone is safe and collecting signage. (MTB or Motorbike Required)

Lead Rider - Ride the course in front of the competitors to check signage is in place and the course is safe (Motorbike Required).

There are many other roles which are available - if you think you can help out then please let us know how by filling in the form at the bottom of the page & as a volunteer you will also receive a free entry into a Trail Terra event of your choice. The event may need between 10 & 20 volunteers to be successful, so don't be shy. Events that cover a large area need a lot of volunteers in order for the event to go ahead, & keep entry fees to a minimum. Head over to official website to volunteer!
