The Portsea Twilight takes place at the Point Nepean National Park, home to Mornington Penisula’s most scenic and challenging summer event. With stunning views of Bass Strait on one side and Port Melbourne bay on the other, test yourself along a fast 4k or the awe-challenging 8k (short, sharp hills mandatory!)

How to enter the Portsea Twilight

Portsea Twilight routes

Runners and walkers will be sent off in waves. If you think you have a chance of placing, please ensure you are in the first wave for your distance.
WAVE 1- All 4K participants. Priority runners (runners who aim to run under 4 mins per km) must stand at the front of the first wave.
WAVE 2 - All 4K walkers
WAVE 1 - All 8K participants who are aiming to run under 6 mins per km pace. Priority runners (runners who aim to run under 4 mins per km pace) must start at the front of Wave 1.
WAVE 2 - Participants aiming to run 6 mins+ per km pace.
WAVE 3 - All 8k walkers

Will be located every 1.5kms on both the 4km and 8km courses.

There will be a dynamic warm up for both the 4km and 8km distances held at the stage.

St. John First Aid will be located at the finish line and on course around 3km mark of the 8km distance. Bike crews are riding around all points of both courses.

Are located in the Event Village, at the start line and on the course.

Pre-Event Collection

Race packs are available for pre-event collection from the Portsea Pub on teh following dates and times:

Thursday, 2 January from 4pm until 6pm

Friday, 4 January from 10am until 2pm

Saturday, 5 January from 9am until 2pm

Event Day Collection

Race packs are available for collection from the Portsea Twilight presented by Food For Health Event Village located at the race pack collection marquee in the event village (Jarman Oval) from 4pm Saturday, January 5.

Kit List
  • Wear loose, light coloured clothing (singlets & shorts)
  • Wear a cap & wet it to keep yourself cool
  • Hydrate well before, during and after your event event with electrolyte & water

Spectators are welcome to hang out at the event village and watch participants cross the finish line

Race Pack Collection

Please note: there is NO Race Pack collection from the Sole Motive Store. PRE-EVENT COLLECTION: Race Packs are available for pre-event collection from the Portsea Pub on the following dates and times:
Thursday, 3 January from 4:00pm until 6:00pm
Friday, 4 January from 10:00am until 2:00pm
Saturday, 5 January from 9:00am until 2:00pm

EVENT DAY COLLECTION: Race Packs are available for collection from the Portsea Twilight presented by Food for Health Event Village located at the Race Pack Collection marquee in the Event Village (Jarman Oval) from 4:00PM Saturday January 5.

Race Pack Postage
All entries received before 11:59pm, Thursday 13 December can opt to have their Race Pack posted to them. All postage will incur a $8.95 fee.

Name on Bib
Participants who register before 11:59pm Sunday, 2 December will have their Race Bib personalised with their name or a nickname.

Bag Drop
Bag drop is available during the run/walk and is located in the Event Village. Your race bib features a tear-off strip for you to attach to your bag for you to easily collect it after your run.

Do not leave any valuables in the bag drop area, as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.

Please note, we are drastically cutting down on single-use plastics and will no longer be supplying plastic bags at our events. Remember to bring your own reusable bags for your belongings.

I Accidentally Entered the Wrong Details on My Registration
If you need to change your registration details (name, distance or postage) this will incur a $10 administration fee.

If you need to update your email address you can do so via the “Members Hub”. Please log back into your registration, select your event and click “View Details”.

I Have Lost or Never Received My Confirmation Email, Can I Have it Resent?
Please ensure you have checked your junk/spam folder for your confirmation email (e-ticket). If you can still not locate it, please email [email protected] and request to have your confirmation email resent.

Can My Friend Take My Entry?
Yes. Please email Sole Motive [email protected] or phone (03) 9285 0600. Please note: Any changes to your registration (name, distance, postage) will incur a $10 administration fee.

How Can I Downgrade/Upgrade My Race?
Event upgrades and downgrades can be made online up until January 3 2019. After this date, any event changes must be made in person at the event. Please email Sole Motive [email protected] or phone (03) 9285 0600. Please note: Any changes to your registration (name, distance, postage) will incur a $10 administration fee.

I've Already Registered But I Want to Join a Team?
Please email Sole Motive [email protected] or phone (03) 9285 0600 with your full name, team name and the email address you used when entering the event before 5pm Thursday January 3 and we will add you to the team.

I Have a Toddler Do they Have to Pay?
Children under four years of age are not required to pay the entry fee, however for safety and insurance reasons we do still require an entry form to be completed. Please email [email protected]

Is the Course Wheelchair Friendly?
The 8km course is not ideal for wheelchair participants however the 4k course is wheelchair friendly. If you have any queries please contact the event organisers (phone: 03 9285 0600 or email [email protected]).

Are Prams Allowed on the Course?
Prams are not permitted on the 8K course.

Off-road prams are allowed on the 4K course. We ask participants who do take a pram on the course to be mindful and watch their step.
