The Flight Centre Sports & Events Robbie McEwen Granfondo has something for everyone. Whether you choose the Piccolo, Medio or Robbie's Signature ride - the Grande Giro over the Gold Coast hinterland's spectacular mountains you'll have 3 amazing cycling courses to choose from. Kids can also enjoy riding in the safety of the closed, traffic free circuit at Nerang Cycling Centre while the "bigger kids" are out on course.

Gran Fondo:

This is a 96.79 mi route in Nerang, 04, Australia. The route has a total ascent of 9485.8 ft and has a maximum elevation of 1,855.87 ft.

Medio Fondo:

This is a 71.02 mi route in Nerang, 04, Australia. The route has a total ascent of 7244.59 ft and has a maximum elevation of 1,856.0 ft.

Piccolo Fondo:

This is a 38.65 mi route in Nerang, 04, Australia. The route has a total ascent of 4166.25 ft and has a maximum elevation of 1,856.0 ft.

Event Details

What’s Included

Food and drink at the rest stops along the way. Full route support marshals, signage, police, mechanics, medical, timing, jersey & a great day out.

Raceday Logistics

Check in for the event will be open on Saturday the 22nd September from 10:00am- 3:00pm and 5:00am -6:00am on Sunday 23rd  September. We do strongly suggest to come and check in on Saturday to ensure the event can begin on time on Sunday.


The Grande Giro (155km) will begin at 6:00am with progressive wave starts.

The 106km Medio Giro will start immediately after the final Grande wave followed by the Piccolo 62km ride.

  • 6.00am        – Grande Giro   1st Wave
  • 6.06am        – Grande Giro   Last Wave
  • 6.10am        – Medio Giro     1st Wave
  • 6.14am        – Medio Giro     Last Wave
  • 6.15am        – Piccolo Giro    Start
  • For the Grande Giro there will be 3 Aid/hydration stations available to riders. There will be plenty of signs along the way to indicate where the Aid Stations will be.
  • Numinbah Valley – Bochow Park, Top of Beechmont, Farm Grove Rd., Top of Tamborine

The following provisions will be available at Aid Stations:

  • Water
  • Electrolyte & energy nutrition supplied by Etixx

  • Bananas 

  • Glucose lollies (pythons)

  • Coca-cola

  • Toilets

  • First Aid kit

  • For the ride, ensure you bring along 2 bidons (drink bottles), sunscreen, preferred snacks, money & mobile phone.
  • We have a great team of dedicated medical and mechanical specialists who will assist you on each of the rides. Our medical team will follow in 2 separate vehicles plus we have our great team of mechanics who will be there to help with any mechanical issues along the way.
  • Toilets are located at the start and finish line, all rest stops. They will be clearly signed.
