The SunSmart IRONMAN 70.3 Busselton event, formally the WA Long Course Triathlon Championships, found a new home in Busselton in 2002 after 17 years on Rottnest Island and a year at Margaret River. Over time the event has grown in stature and the number of participants each year. The Media profile of the event continues to expand annually with the event broadcast national and strong media partnerships facilitating significant exposure both locally, nationally and internationally.
SunSmart IRONMAN 70.3 Busselton is one of the largest events of its type in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Many spectators line the foreshore of Busselton to cheer on the athletes.
Busselton itself offers an endless amount of activities, from shopping to surfing to whale watching - there is something for everyone to enjoy. The Busselton Town Center is home to a variety of restaurants, wine bars and local pubs that all offer a unique dining experience. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner overlooking the picturesque Geographe Bay from many of the restaurants in the Town Center. There are endless amounts of water activities such as the Underwater Observatory, HMAS Swan Dive Wreck, scuba diving and the Nautical Lady Entertainment Park. While visiting, head to the Ludlow Tuart Forest, which is the last tuart forest in the world!
