Westies Joggers 3.5km Fun Run routes

Starting on the expansive grassed area adjoining Lake Gillawarna, teeming with bird life including pelicans, swans, wild ducks and waterfowl. The course follows clear pathways, and a beautiful bushy landscape. The first kilometre, will take you from the lakeside, the Georges River beach, then follow the Prospect Creek banks, as you enjoy the flat and beautiful wetlands running.

Having nicely warmed up over a little more than 2kms, you will pass the seven peacemakers (totem poles) on your right and then come to your first hill.

The next couple of hills will be worthwhile, because you'll hit the drinks station at about 3kms, then sweep down an easy hill.

You will come to the northern most lake at Shortland Brush with its water sculpture to migrating birds on the right.

At the northern end of this Lake you will come to a hill of a few hundred metres in length which will "keep you honest" but as the turnaround point is at the crest of this hill, as is the 4 km mark, you will have a fast easy run down until you turn left and go along the eastern side of this beautiful lake.

At about the 5kms point you will go passed the drink station and through some more undulating hills finishing in an easy fast downhill gradient run.

The last kilometre goes along the eastern side of Lake Gillawarna turning to the right just before the pedestrian bridge, which straddles Henry Lawson Drive, returning to the starting point.
