The concept of a 3 race night series was to provide an opportunity for runners of all levels to enjoy a low-key, grass-roots style, yet well supported, trail running event. It was created particularly for those considering the next challenge that will take them past daylight and into the sphere of night time running, guided solely by the light of their torch and perhaps a running buddy at their side in support. It is an opportunity to experience the heightening of senses, taking in the many night time trail noises - there's no danger, but it's just what happens!
Enjoy the safe, supportive introduction to night time trail running. It will test those sleep demons for some, but if 100km events are on your radar this is a great place to feel safe and supported and test yourself. And what better time to do it as the NEW YEAR ticks over. Don't be home, watching the fireworks on TV when you can see more fireworks than you can imagine, spanning from the city of Melbourne all the way around the bay to Geelong. And why head to bed at 12:30 when you can be running through the night?

From iconic Bells Beach (yes you run a short stretch of this hallowed turf) to the cliff tops of Point Addis and Anglesea and on to Split Point lighthouse at Airyes Inlet, this course deserves to be renewed for the sheer experience of journeying through a unique natural environment. We invite you all to experience trail running from the surf beaches to rainforest of the Otways.
A 10 km surf beach run from "The Rip" at Point Lonsdale to Ocean Grove by the Barwon River.
Arguably the oldest Fun Run in Australia, the Rip to River, held early every Summer, is one of the club's most iconic events. It is also our single biggest fundraiser and each year we welcome approximately 1500 runners to the pristine hard sand track from the Pt Lonsdale lighthouse to the main beach at Ocean Grove.
Welcome to the Afterglow Trail run - shine bright in this epic event running through twilight into darkness. We wonder what the owls will make of a bunch of glowing runners speeding past on either the 21km or 12km course.
A half marathon, 21km we reckon its the perfect trail run distance. Achievable. Go fast-able. But what would make it better? Start it at twilight and run it into the night on the world famous Surf Coast! AND, for those who want a taste try the 12km option!
