TeamOA are proud to present the world famous AleAthlon

This is a "race" over 10km throughout the picturesque Holme Valley with our aid stations stocking optional samples of some of Yorkshire's Finest Ales. Should you cross the finish line and still be thirsty, we have a bar until late! Beer, Food!

What’s Included

The Athlons, all the fun of a run - walk- crawl with the added bonus of some thing special.

Most races you will ever do under 10k-ish, will have no feed, water or aid stations on the route, usually if you are lucky water will all be waiting for you at the finish line & possibly a snack!

The athlons all have a water/feed station every 2 miles or less, stocked with plenty of water and nibbles etc, and then Beer at the AleAthlon - whether you want a shot or a pint!

​Photos, all the athlons have professional photographers who's photos of you on race day, will be available free to download within a few hours of your finish, these will not be the usual finish line photos!

Course Details

Miles of sunny trails!! All the athlons are easy trail run/walks for beginners right through to seasoned athletes, the concept is simple; Cross the start line, follow the well marked off road routes to the first feed station, have a snack then away you go again following the route to the next station, then onto the finish.

Raceday Logistics

The race starts at 11:00

Please arrive an hour before so you have plenty of time to register and get ready for the race

Kit List

Fancy dress, although not compulsory it is encouraged and the best on the day will be rewarded.

Unless the weather forecast is very bad there is no mandatory kit however if the weather forecast is bad (blizzards, heavy rain/winds etc) full body cover (long sleeve windproof top & bottoms) will be required. We will try and notify you by text & or email if we are expecting this but it is suggested you bring it just in case, you can always leave it in your car or with luggage storage, if you do not need it.


Spectators are very welcome although will not be eligible to drink the special ales as this is reserved for the participants!


Station monitors! and many other roles available, help make the Athlons events for all to remember, We are always looking for support at all our events, if you feel you can support your local races please contact us at [email protected]


Is there an Age Restriction?

Due to the availability of alcohol at the WineAthlon and AleAthlon events we have to say Strictly NO under 18s, our policy is simple; if you are not 18 years of age or older on event day you will NOT be taking part, ID may be requested by any member of our team.

For the ChocAthlon, PieAthlon and CakeAthlon, no age restrictions, all under 16's must be accompanied by an appropriate adult

The wine is available for sampling purposes only, a single sample of wine will be available for each competitor, taking more than one will mean someone else missing out!

    Hi. My husband and I had an entry for this event in 2017 however were unable to participate due to injuries. We were told we could defer our entry but were unable to run the 2018 event too. Please can you confirm if we can take part in the 2019 event and, if so, what we need to do to transfer our entry. Thanks.
