About this event
Experience the ancient pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela on this 6-day, 115km trek starting in Sarria. Sleep overnight in small rural hotels and hostels, and walk between 20-30km each day along the ancient route, stopping in beautiful small towns and immersing yourself in the culture.

We are inspired by every location that we find to try to create an event of some sort. We want them to have a relaxed atmosphere and a welcoming environment, no matter what level of competitor you are our events will challenge and test you.
We are extremely lucky and passionate to do what we do, and want to share that passion with as many people as possible, no matter what level of fitness you have.

What's included:
The total cost of this trip is £573.00 (*If you are flying with EasyJet see below). The deposit of £100 made here will secure your spot on the adventure.
*Because of EasyJet flight schedules, flights only arrive and depart on Wednesdays and Saturdays - since the trek ends on Tuesday, if you need an extra night accommodation that can be arranged for you at additional cost.

Route description
The Camino de Santiago, or the pilgrimage of Santiago de Compostela, is a network of pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain. It was one of the most important Christian pilgrimages during the later Middle Ages.
The route of this trek follows that of the French Way of ancient pilgrimage for the last 115km from Sarria to the end point of Santiago de Compostela. The route traverses the hilly landscapes of Galicia, through medieval villages and pass the Mount of Joy, providing trekkers with incredible opportunities to immerse themselves in the culture of the route.
An approximate itinerary is outlined below:
Day 1: Arrive Sarria and overnight stay. (Wednesday June 9th)
Day 2: Walk to Portomarin, 22 km (Thursday)
Day 3: Walk to Palas de Rei, 25 km (Friday)
Day 4: Walk to Arzua, 29.5 km (Saturday)
Day 5: Walk to Rua, 18 km (Sunday)
Day 6: Walk to Santiago de Compostela, 22.5 km (Monday)
Day 7: End of walk either onward travel (Tuesday June 15th) or Stay another night in Santiago.
Day 8: Onward travel (Wednesday June 16th - if flying back to Gatwick on EasyJet)
It is the responsibility of the participant to be ensure they are at the start location of Sarria on Wednesday, June 9th to start the trek on Thursday.
Each day, the trek will start in the morning, and will arrive at each destination between late afternoon and evening so that sightseeing and dinner is possible before retiring for the evening. The trek is doable for people of all abilities, and the route will be taken slowly to ensure that the surroundings are appreciated and everybody is able to keep up.
If you are flying to Santiago from Gatwick, please note that the flights in 2021 are only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Since the trek ends on Tuesday, you will either have to stay an extra night (outlined above in the What's Included section), or arrange alternative travel plans.
