The course travels through very pretty wooded areas, going around Bukit Tangkiling. There is a short section along the main road. There is also a section through the forest at the back of Eco Village.

The Borneo Wildlife Marathon and Half-Marathon starts in Palangkaraya in Central Borneo and finishes in the village of Kumai. The Borneo Wildlife Marathon tour is 7 nights March 12 to March 19, 2020 with the race on March 15.
Day 1 (12th March) Arrive Jakarta.
Day 2 (13th March) Palangkaraya - Official Welcome (Tours subject to flight schedule arrival).
Day 3 (14th March) Race Preview - Tangkiling Hill.
Day 4 (15th March) Race Day - Banquet Dinner & Presentations.
Due to high temperatures in this part of the world, the race will start early morning. The route is through village communities surrounding the Tangkiling Hill and along the Rungan River course. There will be water and hydration drinks provided along the route. The race will start at the Rungan Sari Resort and finish there. Half marathon is one loop, and 50km will do 2 loops plus additional 8 km side loop of the main trail. After the race, relax around the pool. Buffet lunch and easy time until gala dinner and race awards. (Optional time to arrange visit to Palangka Raya city or to walk to the nearest village or to join a cycling club on visit to local river waterhole - additional rate).
Day 5 (16th March) 3 day orangutan tour starts.
Day 6 (17th March) Orangutan Tour continue.
Day 7 (18th March) Orangutan Tour continues.
Day 8 (19th March) Depart Palangka Raya to Jakarta.
Crowds
Spectators are welcome to come out and join their family and friends on this trip of a lifetime, but if they wish to take part they will also need to purchase a ticket.

All proceeds will be donated to the Orangutan Project.

What type of terrain will the Borneo Marathon take place on?
The trail follows dirt-paths through the rainforest, there may be some portions that have significant roots from trees so runners should stay alert.

Will I see an Orangutan at the Borneo Marathon?
While it is definitely possible to see Orangutan throughout the course of the marathon, as with most things related to wildlife it is impossible to guarantee you will see them.
