Course Details

The Bushy Park 10k course is a two lap route covering the paths and trails within the boundaries of Bushy Park. The course has been measured using GPS but, because of its multi-terrain nature, it cannot carry a certificate of course accuracy. The route will be clearly marked using large route arrows and directional cones, as well as being marshalled throughout. We would ask you to remember that we do not have exclusive use of the park and you should be aware that other park users will be on the course.

The route is mostly flat and covers a selection of hard track, tarmac, and a small section on grass. You will pass around various sections of the park alongside the Hampton Wick Royal Cricket Club and the Oval Plantation whilst taking in the mixture of scenic woods and lakes. You may even be lucky enough to spot one of the many roaming herds of Red or Fallow Deer that have been known to watch the start of the race on a few occasions!

St John Ambulance will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.

Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.

The only complaint I have is that the race start was very hard to find given the directions provided and where the bus dropped me off. Both myself and another runner spent 25 minutes searching for the place and ended up starting the race 10 minutes late. A single sign on the outside of the park (to the south) would have solved this problem. Other than that... amazing staff and amazing atmosphere as usual :)

Good, flat course, a bit congested at the start though. Having different start times for the 5k and 10k races might help.
