Race in the second of this 3 race series around the Lake Balboa bike path at Woodley Park. This is a great local race for all types of runners to chase those PRs. Come for the goody bag, t-shirt and, if you complete all 3 races, an exclusive Series Finisher medal.

Course Details

Half Marathon

Start time: 8:00 am

The race begins at the corner of Woodley Avenue and Victory Boulevard in Woodley Park. Start by running west through the foot tunnel, after which you take 2 rights turns in quick succession. This will put you on the main bike path, which you will run along until you reach the HALF MARATHON turn-around sign at the golf course parking lot. At this point, head back down the bike path and veer left at the dirt trail, taking you to the bike path that runs along Balboa Boulevard. Continue along the path until you arrive back at the foot tunnel and the start/finish line, where you will begin the second loop of the course.

10k Course

Start time: 8:15 am

The race begins at the corner of Woodley Avenue and Victory Boulevard in Woodley Park. Start by running west through the foot tunnel, after which you take 2 rights turns in quick succession. This will put you on the main bike path, which you will run along until you reach the 10K turn-around sign. At this point, head back down the bike path and veer left at the dirt trail, taking you to the bike path that runs along Balboa Boulevard. Continue along the path until you arrive back at the foot tunnel and the start/finish line.


5k course

Start time: 8:30 am

The race begins at the corner of Woodley Avenue and Victory Boulevard in Woodley Park. Start by running west through the foot tunnel, after which you take 2 rights turns in quick succession. This will put you on the main bike path, which you will run along until you reach the 5K turn-around sign. At this point, head back down the bike path to the finish line.

There is a parking lot just next to the start line. If that is full, there is also parking in the dirt parking lot across the street

Saturday, 30 March 2018 from 10am to 2pm
This will also be the final chance to enter the race

What is half marathon cut-off time?

4 hours


Are there race prizes?

Yes! The top 3 men and women and top 3 in each group receive awards.

Other competitors also have the chance to win several lucky-dip prizes


Can I pick up my chip, bib and t-shirt on race day?

Yes, but come early. We advise that you collect your packet the day before from Fleet Feet Encino, 16545 Ventura Boulevard, Encino CA 91436

Race check-in opens at 6:45am and closes at 7:45am

There is no race day registration


Are there first-aid stations and bathroom facilities?

Yes, along the course every 1.5 miles


Will the race commence in waves?

Yes, we will begin the race in waves to reduce congestion. We start waves every 2 minutes. On the day, please start behind the banner that most closely matches your estimated race pace.
