Route information
It's a short distance race - approx. one mile, but there is a twist. Participants are expected to carry a bag of potatoes while running!
Men are asked to haul a 20kg bag (just over three stones in old money) and women 10kg at the 'Great Perthshire Tattie Run.' There are relay options (4 x 400 metres approx.) and anyone considering that option will face serious opposition from teams of army cadets, pub teams, gym members, shop staff, farmers and rugby teams.
Individuals
Start outside City Hall (opposite St. John's Shopping Centre) next to stage in King Edward Street, turn right into St. John's Place and head past St. John's Kirk, turn right into St. John's Street behind the church, turning right again into St. John's Place on the other side of the church heading back up towards King Edward Street past the stage.
This circuit will be repeated in a loop four times before crossing the finish line.
Teams
Start outside City Hall (opposite St. John's Shopping Centre) next to stage in King Edward Street, turn right into St. John's Place and head past St. John's Kirk, turn right into St. John's Street behind the church, turning right again into St. John's Place on the other side of the church heading back up towards King Edward Street past the stage.
