A scenic summer run starting near the Reigate Hill Car Park in a small field adjacent to the North Downs Way. The course will follow the North Downs Way trail on an out / back route all the way to the Boxhill lookout point, the course will be one out and back lap for the half marathon and two out and back laps for the marathon. The trail is undulating and varied throughout with some lovely scenery along the way too. Course conditions and the weather at this time of the year can be warm so this will be a challenging trail run, with a unique horse brass medal to reward all finishers.

After 14 years we are making some changes to the format of the classic South Downs Marathon Day. The routes of marathon and half marathon themselves remain unchanged but we are taking out the marathon relay and introducing a trail 10km in Queen Elizabeth Country Park.

Regrettably, the lack of safe parking at two of the relay changeovers make us believe the relay is unsafe as most cars arrive at the changeover points in the same time frame and it has become a hazard and probably an accident waiting to happen. To make up for the loss of this popular element of the marathon we have brought in a 10km route entirely within Queen Elizabeth Country Park that will cover the first 2.5 miles of the half marathon route, divert on the Staunton Way and rejoin the return section of both the marathon and half marathon on the South Downs Way at the Buriton car park entrance.

The fourth staging of The Twilight Ultra takes place at the Redbridge Cycle Centre in East London after another successful year in 2017.

The secure, traffic-free, undulating, tarmac route sees runners covering laps of the cycle circuit and finishing on what will, hopefully, be a balmy summers evening.

With good parking and spectating facilities, the event features a choice of three distances with start times varying according to the distance you select. Aim high and select the ultra distance and you can always step down to a shorter distance.

Runners will be able to take advantage of well-stocked aid stations on each lap with the availability of hot and cold food and drink.

A choice of two Summer runs starting and finishing at the YMCA Hawker Centre (Kingston), proceeding towards the Thames Path on an out and back flat and fast scenic riverside route that is very well marked and marshalled all the way along. Both the half marathon and the marathon courses are both at and fast so were expecting some great PBs.

New for 2018, we have added a beast of a route. This is the toughest Inov-8 X Series route on our calendar, with over 2300m of elevation, it's 300m higher than the Inov-8 Snowdonia X Series event! That should give you some idea of the challenge that awaits you here in Devon.

We are sending you along part of The South West Coast Path which is England's longest waymarked long-distance footpath and a National Trail. It stretches for 630 miles (1,014 km), running from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset. Since it rises and falls with every river mouth, it is also one of the more challenging trails. The total height climbed has been calculated to be 114,931 ft (35,031 m), almost four times the height of Mount Everest

The route starts at Caffyns Farm and heads along the coast path at Lynton, you will be met with towering cliffs and stunning sea views across to South Wales. Soak up the stunning sounds of seabirds nesting on the cliffs. As you venture along the coast you will enter the valley of rocks, a superb section of coast path well know for its herds of feral goats. This section is among the oldest Devonian rocks in north Devon and is highly fossil ferrous.

As you continue on your way you will become lost in the splendour. We take you to Foreland Point, a rocky headland which is the most northerly point along the Devon and Exmoor coastline.

The route then sweeps back inland towards some special forested sections that make you feel like you're back in the heart of Devon. One stand out area is Watersmeet, we know you will be enchanted by this section of the route. There are many other hidden gems on the Exmoor X Series event, we dont want to spoil it too much for you, so come and join us! The outdoors awaits...
