Herbalife Nutrition is excited to announce its inaugural Herbalife24 Triathlon Los Angeles. Starting in Venice Beach and ending in Downtown Los Angeles at L.A. Live, join us for a one-of-a-kind journey through the heart of L.A.

Course Details

International Triathlon
The 1500 meter swim will be a point-to-point course in the Pacific Ocean. The swim will end on the beach, with a short run to the transition area in Venice Beach. Expect waves. The 40km bike leaves from Venice Beach and follows the Venice Blvd to Crenshaw, before a quick hill to Olympic Boulevard. Olympic Blvd. features rolling hills and a nice descent into Downtown LA. The final 9 miles features hills and turns in through DTLA and Macarthur Park. This is a relatively flat and fast bike course. The 10k run travels along portions of the bike course along Figueroa and Olympic Blvd and is primarily flat. This two loop course is very spectator friendly.

International Aquabike
The 1500 meter swim will be a point-to-point course in the Pacific Ocean. The swim will end on the beach, with a short run to the transition area in Venice Beach. Expect waves. Sprint Triathlon
The 750 meter swim will be a point-to-point course in the Pacific Ocean. The swim will end on the beach, with a short run to the transition area in Venice Beach. Expect waves. The 14 mile bike leaves Venice Beach and follows Venice Blvd to Crenshaw, for a quick uphill climb to Olympic Boulevard. Olympic Blvd. features rolling hills and a nice descent into Downtown LA.

Raceday Logistics

Point to Point Course Logistics

Part 1
This exciting point to point course has specific logistics as T1 and T2 are in separate areas. Each athlete is responsible for preparing their gear to be properly transported between areas. Please read each section below to familiarize yourself with the event logistics.

Part 2
Each Athlete will use their own personal bag for T1 and a will be provided a clear bag for T2.
Your personal T1 Bag is to be used only for wetsuits, swim gear your personal event supplies. Anything you would like back MUST be placed in this bag. Athletes are required to place a large sticker with our bib number (sticker received with their packet) onto this bag. These bags can be picked up at the finish line based on bib number.

Part 3
Each Athlete will receive (1) clear plastic bag at Packet Pick Up to place their T2 gear in. Please limit this running shoes, glasses, hat, gels, etc. Only the clear plastic bag will be placed in T2 for pick up. This bag must be dropped off @ Packet Pick Up before the race.

Part 4
Paid bike transport from Transition 2 to Transition 1 will be offered to all athletes. Please stay tuned for more information.

Travel

On race day there are a variety of options for getting to the race start in Venice Beach.

  • Get dropped off by friends or family (or Uber) with your bicycle at Rose / Ocean Front Walk.
  • Park at the beach lots in Santa Monica. The swim start and transition area are under a mile away.
  • Park at the beach lot at Venice Pier (Washington Blvd.) and ride your bike to the swim start (.5 miles away)
  • There will be shuttles and bike transport from the finish line back to Venice Beach.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome! The 5K route along Figueroa and Olympic Blvd. is especially good for spectators.

FAQs

Where do I get my packet/bib number?

All athletes must pick up their packets at the Pre-Event Expo on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

Bike Repair?

There will be bike support/repair during race weekend at the Event Expo on Saturday, June 1, and on Race Day, June 2, located within Transition 1.

When does transition open and close?

  • Transition Area 1 opens at 5:00am and closes at 9:30am. At this time all gear will be transported to the Gear Check Area in DTLA.
  • Transition Area 2 closes at 3:00pm. All gear must be removed by that time.

Cut-offs?

Yes, due the size and scope of the event (in addition to our famous LA traffic and city resources) there are mandatory cut off times. If you are notified by staff that you are past the cut off time on the bike or run, you can continue your event, BUT you must follow the rules of the road.

Olympic Course

  • Swim: 8:00 AM
  • Bike: 10:00 AM
  • Run: 12:00 PM

Sprint Triathlon

  • Swim: 8:00 AM
  • Bike: 10:00 AM

Age Groups & Divisons

The Herbalife24 Triathlon Los Angeles offers a variety of athletic competitions and challenges, designed to accommodate a range of abilities and interest levels.

Athletes can decide how serious and competitive they want the Herbalife24 Triathlon to be. Those athletes who want to be more competitive will register and race in the Age Group Divisions defined below.

Athletes who prefer an easier pace or to race with friends are welcome to join the Recreational Wave which starts immediately after the last age groupers have started the races.Individual athletes must select one division or the other during the registration process.

Individuals are automatically placed in this category, unless they choose the Recreational Wave during the registration process. Age groups are subdivided by gender in five-year age increments (e.g. 20-24, 25-29). It is important to note that Age Groups are assigned based on athlete age as of December 31, 2019 of race year.
