One of the funnest races of the year. A lot of my friends run it every year, so it nice to see everyone. The course is challenging but the swag and chocolate at the end more than make up for it.

This is a race for all levels. The 15k is hard - make no mistake, this course is uphill both ways. But determination can and does win, as long as you are smart and safe (there are potholes on Aurora Avenue in Seattle, and uneven pavement in general). Im 7 months postpartum and accomplished the 9.3 mile course in 1:27:57. Just under 10 minute miles and I was running. I havent been a runner my whole life, in fact only started 6 years ago. But training smart also makes a big difference, especially for a hilly race like this one.

This was my first Hot Chocolate run and I really enjoyed it. I cant say running up 99 is the most beautiful route, but crossing the Aurora Bridge had its east/west view perks.

From the gear check to the after party was all fantastic. The organizers and especially the volunteers were all so supportive and up beat. Not a big fan of out and back courses. But this one was pretty good and a challenge too, with the Hills. The chocolate bowl was spectacular too. What a great race for a great cause.

I have done the Hot Chocolate 15K in Seattle from 2014-2019, minus 2018 ( I had to miss due to a foot surgery). This is a Great race. We had over 4000 runners in the 15K and almost 6000 runners/walkers in the 5K. It is well organized, 2019 was a new course and a great challenge. We still got to endure some of the hills of Seattle, the old course had shorter and steeper, this year they wear not as steep but longer. It starts near the Key Arena and finishes at the Spce Needle, both great attentions in the Seattle area. There is plenty of food and hotels nearby. Parking is a bit of a premium, but still manageable. After 8pm Saturday evening, the street parking is free, so thats a plus. I recommend this race and have convinced many friends to participate in it.

Great race! Hilly course but fun and too be expected (it's seattle)! Organized well, expo and course! Advise for others, make sure you practice your hills before this course!
