Jordan Impact routes

Over the course of the week, you will have the pleasure of waking up to daily morning yoga sessions alongside a variety of group activities such as pasta parties as well as the chance to make lifetime friends.

Prior to the race itself athletes will have the unique experience of visiting two visionary projects which are helped by their fundraising. These products will have a positive impact on over 6,000 people.

Race Routes:

10KM - This is no leisurely 10k and will prove a tough test for all runners. Athletes will begin just as the heat starts to rise and as the 42km & 21km runners approach.

The course will coincide with the other runners as the routes join up, before making its way to the 7 Pillars of Wisdom Mountain for the epic finish.

21km (half marathon) - Enjoy the sheer beauty of Wadi Rum with this challenging course. Racers will be transferred out into the middle of the desert and start-off from a millennia old rock arch.

The race begins as the 42km runners approach and will be run together with them. Although the course is not as hilly as Impact Marathons often are, it will be incredibly hot and sandy and provide a formidable challenge.

42km (The Beast of Wadi Rum) - Starting off before the sun rises, this race will require head-torches. Beginning in this light offers a truly unique experience as entrants will see the sun rise over the immense desert mountains.

This race will push you right to your limits, but remember, afterwards you can say that you've conquered The Beast of Wadi Rum.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much money do I need to raise?
Impact Runners are asked to aim for at least £1000 fundraising. This will go towards the future running of Impact Week and the continuing legacy of the projects on the local communities.
What are the accommodation options?
Bring Your Own Tent: Entry level option for those looking to stick to a budget. Entrants can pitch up their own tent and set it within the Athletes Village. With access to toilets, showers and campfires this is a great option. Base Camp: A stunning Bedouin canvas accommodation with beds and shared washrooms. You will have two other roommates who will no doubt become lifelong friends. Shared washrooms. Summit Camp: Again, Bedouin canvas tent which will be shared with one other and have a private washroom. A truly epic option, with that little bit of extra luxury. Pasha Camp: This is the ultimate Wadi Rum experience and is ideal for couples and friends alike. You will enjoy the experience in a luxurious tent with a private en-suite bathroom.
Who are the partners in Jordan?
Impact Marathons are partnered up directly with the Crown Prince Foundation and focused on the biggest issue the country faces: water scarcity. Jordan is one of the world’s most water scarce countries and with a growing population, due to their open door policy to refugees from neighbouring countries, the challenge gets greater by the day.
