Your organiser

Since 2013, Run the Wild has been dedicated to delivering incredible trail running adventures in the UK and European Alps. Trail running is the ultimate pursuit of freedom, of feeling alive and it's something we are really passionate about! There’s nothing that compares to the feeling of running along mountain paths and for a moment leaving behind your busy life. Start YOUR amazing journey with Run the Wild! The company was founded to bring this experience of running trails in the wild; free of the usual race and logistical burdens, to you. We love exploring places, not just running races. We love meeting people and having an adventure together. We like races too, but this is where our heart really lies and if we can help you have more fun running trails; whether to see the sun rise over Mt Blanc as you climb up over a mountain pass, or indeed to check out a future race route then we will be happy! Join us running off into the unknown, the path flowing underneath your feet, snow capped mountains glinting in the sun, clouds melting away in the valleys far below. Setting your heart and mind free... Exploring places... not running races. This is what it feels like to be alive! “The mountains are calling and I must go.” John Muir, Meet the team.

Route description
Route description

The Chamonix valley sits at the foot of Mount Blanc which provides a stunning backdrop to this introduction to mountain trails in the Alps. This holiday is a 2 and a half-day running adventure break aimed at those looking to discover trail running in the mountains for the first time, as well as more experienced runners looking for a spot of comfort whilst pursuing their passion.

There are many route options around the area which will take us to both sides of the valley, with trails ranging from pine woods to rocky exposed routes. You'll be taken on some really beautiful 13-15k trails which show off the valley at its best, so you get a good flavour of what to expect on our longer adventures. Runners will also learn some trail techniques that will make you a more proficient trail runner.

You will get some breath taking views of Mount Blanc as well as the Aiguilles (needles). Since this holiday is focused on comfort and running, the trail runs will last around 3 hours a day leaving you plenty of time to relax and explore Chamonix and possibly even take a trip up to the Aiguille du Midi.

A deposit of £150 will be taken at the time of sign-up with the balance taken 6 weeks before the trip is due to start. It is also possible to schedule payments following your deposit to make paying for the trip easier.

What is not included:

  • Transport to/from Geneva and Chamonix
  • Travel (such as flights) to/from Geneva
  • Evening meal on second night
  • Personal insurance (required)
  • Lift passes for you and the Lead Runner (if required)
