What you need to know

Swim in Preston Links, cycle through the Lothians, and sprint to the finish line in Edinburghs spectacular Holyrood Park.

Dating back thousands of years and home to many iconic historic sites including the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh Castle and the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh is one of the worlds most beautiful and compelling cities. The city provides a fantastic setting and destination for thousands of athletes and their supporters, as well as providing extremely easy access. Edinburgh is served directly by multiple airlines from over 100 destinations, as well as direct train lines from London and cities across the UK and Scotland.

The Edinburgh 70.3 begins with a 1.2 mile swim at Preston Links before athletes will head eastwards from Cockenzie on a 56 mile one loop bike course, heading inland through rolling arable farmland via Haddington, Pencaitland and onto East Saltoun. From here an out and back undulating loop incorporates the historic and beautiful estate village of Gifford, a key spectator hot spot, which entails the most technical part of the course on a route that hugs the hills of the Lammermuirs. After transitioning, athletes are lead around a beautiful multi-lap, 13.1 mile run within Holyrood Park before crossing the finish line.

IRONMAN 70.3 Edinburgh offers 50 qualifying slots for the 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.

The iconic Avenger Triathlons return to Ragley Hall, near Alcester in Warwickshire for the sixth time.

The start and finish for all three distances will be in the magnificent Ragley grounds, which also provide activities for all the family. The swim takes place in the boating lake and is based on a 650m lap. From the lake, it is a short, slightly uphill run to transition. The bike routes then take competitors along the drive and out into the beautiful, rolling Warwickshire and Worcestershire countryside, returning to Ragley Hall via the imposing main gates and up the sweeping drive past the Hall itself. The run course, used for the first time in 2016, is based on a 5km lap through woodland tracks, gardens, historic outbuildings and fields of the estate.

This provides all the competitors with a chance to enjoy some of the spectacular scenery Ragley Hall has to offer. In 2017, competitors described the run course as tough but stunning, with great support all the way around.

Mont-Tremblant is simply an idyllic race location for IRONMAN athletes and their families and friends. The quaint village and its surrounding communities offer a walkable, easily navigable location for all your race-week activities, including hiking, kayaking, golfing, and cycling.

Athletes will start the 2.4-mile (3.8 km) swim in Lac Tremblant, which in August boasts comfortably warm, wetsuit-legal temperatures. The quarter-mile run to T1 is lined with a soft red carpet, and cheering spectators. The two-loop, 112-mile (180 km) bike course runs through Mont-Tremblants forests and low lying mountains, offering challenging elevations and highly spectator-friendly vantage points. The two-loop, 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run course takes full advantage of the famous Le P'tit Train du Nord, a former railway bed turned into the longest linear park in Canada. Note that this once crushed gravel path has now been paved for the event. The run, lined with enthusiastic spectators, takes runners past a waterfall alongside Lac Tremblant and into the heart of the pedestrian village of Tremblant Resort.

The 2018 IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant offers 40 qualifying slots for the 2018 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

This summer, take part in the race of a lifetime at KMD IRONMAN Copenhagen. The course passes many of the picturesque city's historic landmarks, such as the world-famous Opera House, the Little Mermaid statue, Amalienborg Palace (home of the Danish Queen) and the New Harbour waterfront.

The swim is a 3.8 km one-lap course in the lagoon at Amager Beach Park with excellent spectator views from the shores, as well as atop the three picturesque bridges perched above the action.

On the 180 km Continental bike course, competitors will wind through central Copenhagen before heading north on two loops in the rolling hills of the island's northern countryside, where lush farmlands create a scenic tour. Athletes will recognize the scenery from the World Road Race Cycling Championships, which took place here in 2011, and find themselves in a Tour de France-like atmosphere with spectators lining the course.
Once back in downtown Copenhagen, athletes will dismount their bikes next to the Royal Actress House. This might be the fastest T2 in the world, as athletes hand over their bike and begin the run in just over 50 seconds.

The 4,5 loop run course stretches along the citys harbor, lined with bright 17th and 18th-century row houses and more than 150,000 cheering fans. Copenhageners celebrate the triathletes in front of the Royal Actress House at Ofelia Plads, creating a tremendous crowning moment for every finisher.
