The IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam Powered by Number 1 event will take place on May 7, 2017 in the coastal city of Danang, well known for its pristine beaches, UNESCO world heritage sites and numerous tourist attractions.
Situated along an immaculate 30-km stretch of white-sand beach within 100 km of three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Imperial City of Hue, Hoi An Ancient Town and the My Son ruins, Vietnams third-largest city plays host to the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam.
Danang is a bucket-list destination for travelers with its mix of cultural attractions, famous cuisine, beautiful beaches, world-class golf courses and award-winning resorts.
Participants will be treated to a fast and scenic course that begins with a 1.9km ocean swim in front of the beautiful Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa, host hotel and race central. From there, athletes will enjoy a scenic twoloop 90km bike course on smooth, well paved roads that runs along Danangs pristine coastline and past some of the citys key landmarks. The final 21km outandback run course is flat and passes by many of Danangs famous beach resorts before returning to the Hyatt for a stunning beach front finish. With tropical conditions, this warm-weather destination event is the perfect midseason race to prepare athletes for their summer IRONMAN events.
