Famous for hosting the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing events, Weymouth will now be hosting the ultimate test of endurance. For one day only this hotspot will provide the backdrop for Ironman 70.3. It will be a first timer friendly, single transition race - why not bring the family and make a seaside getaway of it.

Course Details

Swim This is a one lap swim around the bay. Competitors will have staggered starting times in order to avoid congestion.

Bike The bike is a one lap course through the undulating countryside around the town.

Run The Half Marathon consists of 3.5 laps on the seaboard esplanade - perfect for loved ones to cheer you to the finish.

By road
Weymouth is easily reached via the A354. Follow the signage directing you toward Old Harbour North.

Park and Ride
The Weymouth Mount Pleasant Park and Ride is found just off the main road A354 into Weymouth and has connecting bus services direct into the town centre.

By train
The most convenient station for the race is Weymouth, in the city centre. It is a short walk (under 20 mins) from the Pavilion.

By bus
The nearest bus stop is at the Kings Statue, by the seafront.

By air
The nearest major international airport to the race is Bournemouth, approximately 40 miles aways. Exeter is the next most convenient.

    A long day out, but very enjoyable.

    I could write 1000's of words about this but will try and keep it short- increidble day sums it up- can be a tough swim with soem big waves- fairly fast biek with mostly good roads (the odd track) and 3 climbs, a flat run with some great support and just 1 quiet section on each of the 3 loops
