What you need to know

The Jurassic trail is not only a visually spectacular run along the Jurassic coast but also a challenge that some would class as undulating. The run has four route options and dependent on your choice depends on how much of a challenge you will have.

Starting just next to Marsh barn, in the old pitch and putt gravel area the trail run takes us through the beautiful golf club and onto freshwater its flat for the first 3 km which is where the Aid station is located, after this the route follows the Jurassic coastal path through freshwater and you return to West Bay (Marsh Barn) along the Jurassic cliffs, and the views along the coastline.

Again Starting just next to Marsh barn, in the old pitch and putt gravel area the trail run takes us through the beautiful golf club and onto freshwater its flat for the first 3 km which is where the first Aid station is located, after this the route follows the Jurassic coastal path out to Hive beach, Burton Bradstock, before we head westwards and then follow the path back to the Aid station at 8 km, its cliff path, and sea views all the way back to West Bay (Marsh Barn) along the Jurassic cliffs.

Half Marathon 21.1km
The Half marathon is a test in places and not to be taken lightly , starting just next to Marsh barn, in the old pitch and putt gravel area the trail run takes us through the beautiful golf club and onto freshwater its flat for the first 3 km which is where the First Aid station is located, after this we meet our first hill, its short and sharp.
At the top we get our first glimpse of the sea before we head for Burton Bradstock's hive beach, once through the fields, we follow the coastline and head inland for a km, and the second feed at 10 km before heading back towards Hive beach, its all downhill and is track and trail.
We link back up with the 10 km route here and head towards the third feed at 17 km, this is when the fun really begins, once on the cliff path, you will realize why we have chosen this location,
its simply breathtaking, and the views (If there is no mist) are to die for, Its the Jurassic coast at its most superb.
The first parts of the Half are relatively flat but its the Jurassic coast so at some point its an up and down challenge that is not for the faint hearted.

Marathon 42.2km
An addition to the 2019 event will see us add a full trail marathon, its tough, very tough, and the cut off at 18.5 km will be strictly enforced,
but for those that are up for the challenge, come and run spectacular scenery.

The RB Hull Marathon & Relays will return for a special City of Culture edition.

The Marathon sees runners take a route through the City centre, Victoria Docks, into the East of the city and East Park, past RB, our principal sponsors, a return to the City centre and then the Marina before passing through a working dock, Pickering Park, Hessle, over the Humber Bridge and a return via the Costello Stadium and track, Peterpan Park and into the KCOM Stadium.

We are once again hosting both the 2 person & 4 person relay races, with the assistance of Fitmums & Friends at the three change over points. Following the same route as the marathon, these present runners the chance to still be part of the atmosphere if a marathon is a challenger too far. Form a pair or a team from work, a community group or your running club. Run just to help improve your fitness, achieve a challenge, raising funds for one of our 5 charities or all of these!

The marathon will return in 2018, still based at the home of Ciderology, the fantastic Bredy cider farm on the edge of Burton Bradstock, where you can camp the night before if you wish. (You must book through Bredy farm)

With parking close by and the start within 50 meters of the Cider bar, its something to look forward to at the end (as long as someone else is driving!). Its also a great place for your family to relax as you do all the work.

The routes are on nice quiet country roads, with aid stations on route and our as always welcoming environment, we want everyone to finish the marathon who starts and if you can manage 7 hours and under then #PUSHYOURLIMITS and enter now.
