This rural marathon and half marathon uses the quiet lanes surrounding Ashford, Westwell and Charing with a section along the Pilgrims Way. The marathon is a two-lap scenic multi-terrain course with half marathon runners covering a single lap. The race is suitable for both experienced and first-time marathon or half marathon runners.

Course Details

The Course:

The Kent Spring Marathon & Half Marathon course is an undulating, multi-terrain course using the roads surrounding Ashford, Westwell and Charing with a section along the Pilgrims Way. The marathon runners will complete two laps and the half marathon will be one lap. The final 1.5k of the race is downhill so fast finishes are guaranteed.

The roads will be not closed for the event, but they are quiet lanes. However, please still be aware that there may be vehicles on the course.

Travel

The race headquarters are located at Charing School and there will be car parking available at the school on race day.

The closest railway station is Charing, which is served by trains from Ashford International. It is just a short half a mile walk from the station to the race HQ.

First Aid
St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
