Route information
The Marin Century has 5 different courses of different distances for participants of every skill level.
The Mini Century is a 25 mile out and back course with 1523 ft of elevation. Participants will start at Stratford Lake Park, cycle uphill to the north west until reaching the rest stop at Walker Creek Ranch, and then turn around and descend on the same route back to the start. This course is great for novices, but not advised for first timers.
The Compact Classic is a 50 Mile loop around Walker Creek Ranch with 3516 ft of elevation. The route follows the same road as the Mini out to the Walker Creek Ranch rest stop, and continues on, looping around to the second rest stop at Tomales Community Park, then heads west to rest stop number three at Laguna School before heading south to return to Stratford Lake Park.
The Mount Tam Century is an exciting 86.1 mile route with 8624 ft of elevation. Initially following the same road as the first two routes, the Mount Tam heads south on Pt. Reyes - Petaluma Rd, passing through Nicasio, Woodacre and Fairfax as it travels toward the Golden Gate Recreation Area. The route then travels north up the coast, passing Stinson Beach, Woodville and Five Brooks before returning to the start line.
The Classic Century is a tough 96.4 mile course with 6829 ft of elevation. Initially following the same route as Mount Tam, the ride turns west after the Two Birds Cafe Rest Stop, making a mini stop at Tocoloma Bridge before heading north. It then follows the same route as the Compact Classic, adding some extra miles on after the Tomales Community Park rest stop by circling through Valley Ford, before heading to the rest stop at Laguna School and then toward the finish.
The Super Tam is the ultimate ride at this event. With 128.2 miles and 11404 ft of elevation, this ride will push you to your limits. This ride combines the Mount Tam course and the second half of the Classic Course to make the ultimate ride, showing you everything this event has to offer.
