This is no ordinary marathon. It's a tough, beautiful, off-road event, through forests, over streams, past waterfalls and up mountains, with the added task of running into the night. With a start time of 5.30pm, the aim is to finish before midnight. And with Pen-Y-Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, and a few others in the way, that maybe not as easy as it sounds.

Brilliant race, unfortunately couldn't quite fit in the hall for the race brief and the second. Checkpoint is just a check point but the aid stations were well stocked and a squirrel even filled my water bottle.

I did the Brutal Midnight Marathon yesterday (you have to finish before midnight) and it lives up to its billing.....it's brutal! A seriously tough course (especially on a hot day), with well stocked aid stations and a seemess check in procedure; what's not to like?I would recommend this race to anyone who fancies something 'different' and who isn't worried about fast times.....this isn't a quick course! Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
