Route information
3k
The runs start with a footwash in the gentle brook before turning right into Eastnor Grounds. Here comes the first obstacle with some cargo net crawls. There are a number of water-based obstacles in the first stream in the estate including:
  • Take the footbridge over the water
  • Drop down into the water and cross the stream
  • Drop down into the water, duck under the footbridge and run along the stream
The water here is 60cm deep and extremely muddy. Adults are recommended to test each route and see which is appropriate for their children.
Once through the water, its only a 600m run to reach the finish. 1.5k runners head straight to the finish line and 3k runners turn right to go for a second lap.
6k / 10k Route
Embrace the wet feet as you tackle this single loop course. Straight off the bat runners will enjoy a footbath before heading to the castle grounds. Here, runners will run out and back before heading across the road. After a short climb and a run along a hillside, runners will reach Land Rover test tracks.
Filthily muddy, you're going to be covered by the end of this! The first obstacle on the agenda is Bomb Hole which will be left to your imagination until the event.
Half a kilometre later there is a split in the course, where 6k runners turn right and 10k runners go straight to add on some extra distance before rejoining the 6k runners at The Rollercoaster. The Rollercoaster is a run of rises and falls on deep muddy tracks, and can be quite slippery so be careful here.
Now at the bottom edge of the woods, you'll need to trail along more muddy test tracks, but can stop for a quick drink at the drinks station. Mud-free for a little while, there is some free running before you get to the Swamp.
To get there, runners will duck under a footbridge over the stream which takes you to the thickest mud of the course. After emerging from this muddy swamp, follow signs for the finish, where 6k runners will head, while 10k runners head for another lap. Just 500m left of running with the Castle providing a stunning backdrop to cross that finish line.
The routes are subject to change.
