No swimming aids, including compression tights, or wet suits are allowed. Goggles may be worn. Any stroke or combination of strokes may be used except butterfly and backstroke.
Overtaking may take place at any time during the swim – do not impede oncoming swimmers. Alternatively you may touch the preceding swimmer on the foot and they are compelled to let you overtake at the end of that length.

Competitors will be responsible for the roadworthiness of their bikes, though basic checks will be made by the Marshall’s at Transition entry point. No accompanying vehicles are allowed on the course and anyone receiving assistance will be disqualified.
The Highway Code must be obeyed at all times as should all instructions from the police or race officials. The Organisers accept no responsibility whatsoever regarding the conduct of competitors whilst on the public highway. The course does include a section of the B4215 – please take extra care! Take care at all junctions and keep to the LEFT at all times. All turns will be Marshalled, however Marshall’s are not allowed to direct traffic, so do not expect them to do so.

REGISTRATION & SETTING UP
Will take place at the Registration Desk at the top of the slope towards the Centre entrance from 8am. Registrations will be ongoing throughout the morning. Register your name and race number from the start list.
Please register at least 45 minutes before your start time. BTF members must produce
their current race licence for inspection – failure to do so will mean they have to purchase a day licence at an additional cost of £5.
You will be given your race numbers and the registration desk will explain where to position them. Here you will also collect your chip timer which we recommend to wear on your ankle.
Note that the numbers have space on the back for important medical information to be
added – you MUST complete this. Please pin the numbers on the corners. Race belts are
permitted, but ensure you turn your number appropriately for the cycle and the run. The
sticky label should be attached to your bike in an obvious position. You will also be given a Security Band, which must be worn on your wrist throughout the race. You will not be
allowed into the Bike Transition without it. It will also be required to retrieve your
bike at the end of the race.
Lockers are available in the leisure centre changing rooms to put all clothes not required
during the race but an old pound coin or trolley token is needed. All clothes and equipment required for the race are to be placed in transition ready for use after the Swim and Bike sections. After the race please collect your belongings from the changing rooms.
Bikes will be given a basic check on entry to transition, but competitors are entirely
responsible for the roadworthiness of their own machine. Helmets are compulsory.
Your bike must be placed in transition and racked against your race number. Clothing for
the cycle and the run must be placed next to your bike as not to impede other competitors. In line with BTF Rules no boxes or bags are allowed in transition – they must be removed prior to the race start. Transition will be guarded, so you must show your security band when entering and exiting, (not during the race!)
