Warmer weather and (possibly) more sunshine can only mean one thing spring is arriving! And with that comes the return of the Richmond Park Spring 10K and 5K race, located in the beautiful London park itself. Weave your way through the greenery as you spend your Sunday morning taking on a 10K or 5K run.

Course Details
Explore the beauties of Richmond Park in this race. The course is a 5K loop of the park that runners will go through twice to complete the 10K. Don’t worry about getting lost, as volunteers, cones and arrow signs will clearly demarcate the course.

Passing by the Teck Plantation, Bishops Pond, Richmond Gate, and Sheen Wood, this undulating route will provide a variety of terrains including track, tarmac, and a bit of grass. There aren’t any hills of note to be concerned with, so you’ll be able to keep an eye out for any potential four-legged spectators (deer).

Note: Remember that we are not the only ones using the park, so be courteous to non-racers you encounter on the route.

Raceday Logistics

Starting Line: Sheen Gate, Richmond Park, London SW14 8BJ

The race will start at 10:00 am sharp!

We'd recommend arriving about 30 minutes early.

Getting there on foot and by bicycle

One of the many perks of the event is Richmond Park’s fantastic location. You can easily cycle there from the Richmond underground station in about ten minutes. We’ll hold on to your bike at race registration while you race. You can walk as well, however be aware that it’s about twenty minutes away from the underground stop.

Getting there by car

If you choose to drive, that’s fine too. Registration is very close from the parking lot, however do remember that the spaces are shared with everyone using the park (racers and otherwise), so leave plenty of time in order to secure one. You cannot park on any of the side roads or on the grass. The address is Sheen Gate, Richmond Park, London SW14 8BJ.

Getting there by bus

Richmond Park can also be reached by bus. If you get off at the north side of the park at stop N, you can walk to Registration in about 10 minutes. Here is a list of the buses that travel to Richmond Park.

• 190 Hammersmith – Richmond
• 391 Hammersmith – Richmond
• 419 Hammersmith – Richmond
• R68 Bushy Park and Richmond

There are also a few buses that travel specifically to the northern side of the park, including

• 33 Hammersmith – Richmond
• 337 Richmond – Clapham Junction
• 485 Richmond – Wandsworth

Getting there by train

For those who plan to travel via train, we recommend Mortlake, which is about a twenty minute walk from Registration. Mortlake is accessible on the South Western Railway.

Minimum age: 15 yrs on April 15th.

First Aid
St John’s Ambulance will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.

Everything went as planned, the course was easy, avoiding the step places, and a very smooth experience overall, just wish I was faster ;-)

Easy to get to, plenty of parking, Need to be aware of all other park users as it is busy. Queue early for the toilets.

Great course. Good marshalling. But despite having registered and paid, when I turned up there was no record of my having entered the race. Also it was hard to hear the pre-race brief from the back.

Richmond Park 10k was very well organized by Nice Work. The Nice Work team was brilliant with communicating emails before the event, and great atmosphere on the race day. Thank you

Well organised race and nice atmosphere! The course was OK - it could have been a bit more varied to be more interesting but still a good course.

I am only reviewing negatively as I am tying to get in touch with the organisers through the link in my acceptance email (have been for two weeks) but cant get hold of anyone. Hoping a negative review may prompt a response!

This is a great race, it's not huge so don't expect any crowds or people cheering you on. But, it's a perfect training race. It's well organised and Richmond Park is so beautiful, you feel like you're in the countryside.
