What you need to know

Join us for a 5k, 10k or Half Marathon at Dorney Lake; home to London 2012s Olympic rowing events. Dorney Lake, situated near the village of Dorney in Buckinghamshire, is a purpose built rowing lake with grounds that are a perfect backdrop to running as well as rowing. The flat course is ideal for a chip timed personal best.

Dorney Lake is ideally placed being within easy reach of London, Heathrow Airport, the M4 corridor and the M3, M25 and M40 motorways. It is well served by the rail network with main stations being Slough, Maidenhead and Windsor.  Taplow and Burnham train stations are also nearby.

BY ROAD

  • Exit at Junction 7 follow slip road to roundabout
  • Turn left onto A4 towards Maidenhead
  • After traffic lights turn left at roundabout onto B3026, signposted for Dorney and Eton
  • On sharp left-hand bend, turn right, signposted Dorney Reach
  • After 400m enter Dorney Lake, Eton College Rowing Centre through large white double gates
  • Follow perimeter road to left of lake down to the boathouse

BY TRAIN

Main stations for Dorney Lake are Slough and Windsor & Eton Riverside.  Burnham, Taplow and Maidenhead stations are also nearby.

  • Strict 3 hour cut-off for the Half Marathon.
  • Chip Timing Used for an Accurate Start to Finish Time!
  • Once you enter you will receive a confirmation email. More information about where to collect your number will be sent closer to the event.
  • 11 years old for a 5k, 15 years old for a 10k and 17 years old for Half Marathon.
  • Event has water stations – where and how many depends on the course and the distance.
  • We will have a baggage drop, and it is FREE to use. We have a member of staff managing the station while you run.
  • You can help yourself to a piece of fruit and a flapjack when you finish. You will also receive a medal!
  • We’d strongly advise against wearing head phone – the nature of the events means that you need to be aware of your surroundings and be able to hear marshals instructions.
