5KM COURSE

Celebrate as you kick off your Run Melbourne 5K with a start along St Kilda Road, just south of Linlithgow Ave. Make your way onto Birdwood Ave before taking a sharp U-turn back towards the city along St Kilda Rd to Petticoat Lne. Head back across Swan St Bridge with the newly made pedestrian walkway before striding along Batman Ave, past Rod Laver and around Grandslam Oval.

It’s time to soak up the vibe at this entertainment hot spot before running across Rod Laver Bridge and then around the MCG forecourt. A short stint to Brunton Ave and you’re coming into the home straight as you hit William Barack Bridge. Take into the spectacular city sights as you run over the bridge. It’s your final 500m sprint into the finish chute at Birrarung Marr.

10KM COURSE

With a start along St Kilda Road, just south of Linlithgow Ave, embrace your 10K race day as you make your way onto Birdwood Ave for a lap around The Tan (watch for the slight incline!). Passing the Shrine of Remembrance get ready to put in a little speed through a fast section of the course down Anderson St hill and along Alexander Ave. Onto Linlithgow Ave and Petticoat Ln where you’re coming up to the halfway point of the race.

Head back across Swan St Bridge with the newly made pedestrian walkway before striding along Batman Ave, past Rod Laver and around Grandslam Oval. Soak up the vibe from at this entertainment hot spot before running across Rod Laver Bridge. Dig deep through the last section of the course along Yarra Park and Brunton Ave, before giving it all you have as you bring it home in the last kilometre. Caution: there’s one final hill up Wellington Parade South. Nailed it! And a final left turn into Batman Avenue with a 500m downhill and you’re into the finish chute at Birrarung Marr.

21.1KM COURSE

With a dawn start backed by the city lights the Run Melbourne half-marathon, starting at the corner of Elizabeth St and Flinders St, moves steadily into the Crown Casino precinct before heading to Southern Cross station. A sharp left into Collins St and its time to embrace your first challenge, a 100m incline. Relax into a steady downhill to Harbour Esplanade where the field starts to thin out – perfect timing to test the legs on this fast, flat section past Etihad Stadium and through the Docklands area. Heading back along Harbour Esplanade to Webb Bridge the course crosses through its first 5K.

Heading into this popular section of the course you’ll pass Polly Woodside before making your way back along Southbank and under Princes Bridge into Alexander Gardens. A small climb up Petticoat Ln before joining St Kilda Road and then into The Tan. With the body well and truly warmed up you’re nearing the mid-way point. Racing towards the Shrine of Remembrance remember to keep enough in the tank for the back half of the race.

Run down Anderson St hill along Alexander Ave, then Linlithgow and Petticoat Ln before the course starts winding its way back towards back towards the city. Enjoy the brand new shared pathway as you cross Swan Street Bridge and if the legs are starting to fatigue a little then now is a good time to stride out along the wide and flat Batman Avenue. A sharp dogleg then it’s up to Rod Laver and around Grandslam Oval. Soak up the entertainment hot spot vibe as you approach Rod Laver Bridge. You’ve earned the cheers!

It’s time to bring home the last section of the race through Yarra Park and Brunton Ave before edging to the final kilometre toward the finish. Caution: there’s one final hill up Wellington Parade South. Nailed it! And you’re heading back into Batman Avenue where it’s time to leave nothing in the tank with the final 500m downhill into the finish chute at Birrarung Marr.
