What you need to know

Be part of the sprint distance triathlon in this picturesque seaside resort. The event is open to both adults and children age 14 and over and has the fantastic finish line atmosphere we have at all of our events.

If you are looking for a race with an enclosed stunning sea swim; sea views, fantastic village support, topped off with one of the most breathtaking scenic runs then this is the perfect triathlon for you.

The Saundersfoot Triathlon offers athletes travelling down to support friends, family or club members who are tackling the Ironman Wales a chance to take home their own medal! Taking place on the Saturday before, the event is open to both adults and children aged 14 and over.

What’s Included

Yes you must be 14 years old by the day of the race to compete in the Sprint Distance.

You will need your photo ID and a signed disclaimer form to register. Without these we have the right to stop you from competing. Only you can register, you are not allowed to register somebody else.

Entries are non-transferable, so if someone else takes part under your details you and the person racing will be disqualified and banned from all Activity Wales Events.

Course Details

The Saundersfoot Triathlon course is simply in one of the best locations in the UK. With a calm, safe and spectator friendly swim, picturesque ride and a fast and flat run, this event will take some beating!

The course is a 750m sea swim, 20km bike and a 5km run. Below you’ll find the maps for the event.

The triathlon will begin with a mass start on the beach. Athletes will head into the water swimming between the two red buoys. It will be an anti-clockwiseswim around the course, with the large turn-point buoys to be kept on your left hand side.

The bike course will be a 2 lap route, heading out from transition anti-clockwise, coming back round into Saundersfoot. Please note the bike course is under review and may change before the 2019 event.

The run will be an out-and-back route, heading through the short tunnels and along the seafront. You’ll then come back into Saundersfoot for the red carpet finish.
