Terrain: Grass, Trail
Route Type: Loop
Laps: 1
The Shere Run offers 3 different distances: a 10k run, a half marathon, and a 42k run. There is also the option to compete in the 42k event as part of a team of 3.
Each course will be clearly distance marked and course marshalled during the race. Offering some of the most scenic trail runs available in the South-East of England, this is a truly fantastic event whether you are new to running or a seasoned pro.
10k
The 10k course will take participants out of Shere and toward Dogkennel Green where they will tackle hills up to the 3.5k mark. There's then a gradual downhill section around the 5k mark as runners will head back towards Shere, with a quick final kilometre greeting all participants.
Half Marathon
The Half Marathon Course takes participants out past Vale Farm and through a quick up-and-down section around the 7-11k mark. All participants will finish in Shere as the course loops back around after a considerable drop at the 18k mark. There are plenty of short and sharp dips and twists to keep all participants interested so strap on in for an exciting adventure.
Marathon
The marathon course consists of a long journey around Shere's finest trails. There's a large incline starting at the 12k mark as participants will climb up Wotton Common. After this, participants will drift down towards Hurt Wood before a final climb from Chilworth to the finish at the starting area.
