Parking :

We would advise that you park in our temporary car parking area at the Old school site, Raploch Rd. This is easily accessible as follows. Following the M9, north or southbound to junction 10 (Craigforth) exit here and then follow the A84 eastbound towards Stirling and onto Drip Rd, Parking is signed and access to it is located just off Drip Rd. Here you will be parked up by event stewards.

It is only a short walk to the start area from here and a little further to the main event village at Kings Park.

IMPORTANT NOTE – At 08:00 junction 10 of the M9 will be closed to facilitate the event, therefore if you are not into the parking area via this route prior to 08:00 you should use the alternative route detailed below.

Marathon runners can also access parking from junction 9 of the M9 and they will need to do this if they cannot make it to junction 10 prior to 08:00. On exiting at junction 9 follow the A872 (Glasgow Rd) north towards Stirling, this joins the old A9 and continues north. Once on Burghmuir Rd you will approach Customs roundabout and then onto Drip Rd roundabout, at this point join Back O’Hill Rd. From this point, your next turn will be a right onto Raploch Rd which brings you to Drip Rd and the access point into the Old School Raploch Rd parking site.

This event, the most recent addition to the Great Run Series, comes with its own distinguished history. First staged in 1989, and known as the Bristol Half Marathon, the city centre run has become a tradition in the national running calendar. Over 10,000 runners every year make this a must-do event, with an atmosphere second to none. The scenic sea-level course starts and finishes in Bristol's historic Harbourside, taking runners out and back through the stunning Avon Gorge, around the old city, and twice under Brunel's famous Clifton Suspension Bridge.
