Course Type: Out and Back
The Swansea Triathlon will start from the SA1 Dock. Athletes will get into the water and swim anti-clockwise around the course, with large turn-point buoys to be kept on the swimmers' left-hand sides.
The bike course will be an out-and-back route from transition, coming back around into Swansea. The run will see you running through the streets, along the beach to the turning point and back to the finish line.
The run course has an out and back route. It is fast and flat and finishes in front of the National Waterfront Museum of Wales.

This will be the same as the triathlon 5k out and back route. It is fast and flat and finishes in front of the National Waterfront Museum of Wales.
Swansea Swim
The swim course will be released closer to the event. It is in calm, safe and spectator-friendly water. The water is suitable for a first-timer if you feel confident enough to take it on.

Parking is available at the following locations:

Directions from Pembrokeshire
  • Take the A40 to Carmarthen
  • Follow through Crosshands and Pont Abraham roundabout
  • Take the M4 towards Swansea
  • Leave M4 at Junction 45
  • Keep in left-hand lane and take A4067 towards the City Centre
  • Follow the signs for Stadium for approx. 6 miles and then the Stadium will appear on your left-hand side
  • After the Stadium follow the road and take a right at the roundabout towards the docks
  • There are many car parks in the area which you can park in to access all the areas needed.
Directions from Port Talbot
  • Leave the M4 at Junction 44
  • Follow Fabian Way down to the centre

Make sure you are at the start line 30 minutes before your start time. All wave times are approximate and may be subject to change on the day. You will only be able to race in the wave time allocated to you.
Race Pack
The race pack will be sent out to you two weeks prior to event day. It will contain further specific and finalised details and information which you will need on the day.
Registration
Registration will be at the Dylan Thomas Centre. You will need a photo ID, you cannot register without it.
On registering you will receive the following:
  • 1x Coloured Swim Hat as per your allocated wave
  • 1x timing chip (worn on your ankle outside your wetsuit)
  • 2x Bib numbers (ensure you complete medical information on the reverse side of the bib)
  • 1x Helmet number
  • 1x Bike post number
Age Requirements
  • Swim: Participants must be at least 14 years old to take part
  • Triathlon: Participants must be at least 14 years old to take part
  • 5k: Participants must be at least 11 years old to take part
Transition
The transition will be located at the East Burrows Road Car Park.
You will not be allowed into transition without your race number. It is only open to athletes.
  • Make sure you have numbered your bike and helmet with your numbers before entering the transition
  • Your helmet must be on and secure before entering the transition
  • Transition will be laid-out to be equal and fair for everyone, you must rack your bike in the wave you have been allocated
  • Relay teams only the bike athlete will need to rack their bike
Relay Team
  • One person can register for the whole team, providing that each member has signed the event disclaimer
  • Bring a pen to complete your medical conditions on your bib
  • Once you have completed your first discipline make your way to the racked bike to hand over the timing chip to your teammate
  • After the bike route head to the transition area to hand over the timing chip to the last runner.
Rules and Regulations
  • This is a non-drafting event.
  • If you retire from the race you must report to an official, inform them, and hand in your timing chip.
  • You cannot use any headphones or listening devices at any time.
  • You should not litter at any point on the course.
  • You must wear a helmet at all times whilst on the bike.
  • Do not be abusive to marshals, any abusive behaviour or language will result in immediate disqualification

Sail Bridge - No Access for supporters
The Sail Bridge is limited to athletes only. Please make sure your supporters are aware during the event. They must not cross this bridge, there will be an alternative route in place.

If you wish to wear two swim hats that is fine but the issued swim hat MUST be worn on top.

Yes, this is mandatory for all of our events and must cover the torso & thighs. It must NOT cover the hands and feet.
