Route information
The Crossing
The crossing is a full marked course which is perfect as an entry level ultra.
The route will visit 4 moorland villages of Belstone (start), Postbridge, Princetown, and Ivybridge (finish) and will total 1,119m of climbing and 1,516m of descent.
There will be two Aid stations with food and refreshments as well as three smaller drinks and refuelling stops.
Cut-off: 10.5 Hours
The Great Escape
A Long half-marathon starting from Princetown in the heart of the Moor, the route takes in the last 15.5 miles of THE CROSSING, with big, wide open spaces. Many have tried escaping the Prison at Princetown and, because of its remoteness, have been recaptured.
A fully marked and marshalled course. The race will include 2 water stops with light bites only, due to the remoteness of the course and terrain.
The route crosses the head of the Erme Valley and traverses the Erme canyons, with some interesting moorland vistas along the Abbots Way before the long descent into Ivybridge. This is Dartmoor trail running at its best.
Cut-off: 4.5 Hours
