As the name suggests this is an out and back canter on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The route will start and finish at Kirkstall about 2.5 miles outside the centre of Leeds. Whilst this flat route is not particularly technical its a great opportunity to improve your own PB. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal is 127.25 miles in length, stretching between the busy cities of Leeds and Liverpool. It is in fact the longest canal in the north of England and passing through 91 locks. The construction began in 1770 and was completed in 1816.

I absolutely LOVE IGUN events, the organisers, marshals and runners are all sooo lovely. This was my first race back after injury and it was such a comfortable race to do for it. Mainly flat with a couple of bumps, out and back on fairly pretty canal towpaths. Would defo do again

Another well organised and run event by the ‘Its Grim Up North’ team. These races are really friendly and enjoyable, the organisers and marshalls are very supportive.
And there is cake at the end - lots of cake!!
What more could you want - well you got a medal, a bottle of beer (or cider) and large chocolate bar in the goody bag 👍
Will definetly do more of their events and this one again.

This was my first IGUN event and won’t be my last! Was a really well organised social run that was refreshingly less formal than other races I’ve run. There wasn’t any spectator support but the support from all the fellow runners was all that was needed. The course was well laid out with just a few hiccups with biking groups not allowing access in a couple of areas but other than this it was a great event-would definitely recommend!! :)

I travelled all the way from Essex to Leeds for this event as I was looking for some canal miles prior to GUCR and I have run the Liverpool to Leeds Canal a few times. I wasn’t dissapointed ! What a great run......it was so friendly fun and well organised. Aid stations were well stocked the organisation was second to none....what stands out more than all that was the friendly fun atmosphere.. what a fantastic surprise to get a great swag bag at the end ! I will be back !!!

This was my 1st race with IGUN. I’ve never met such a friendlier group of people. The registration process was easy and the race was well organised. It is a beautiful scenic race along the canal. I really enjoyed it, especially the cake at the end. The medal is lovely too. Well done on a really friendly atmosphere and a well organised race. I look forward to attending your events in the future x
