Route information
1.2 Mile
The swim starts on the north side of Goscar Rock. Athletes must do one lap of the course, keeping right - two orange buoys on their right, the final buoy on the left. Then keep left and follow the chute to the finish line.
2.4 Mile
This route is the same as the 1.2 mile course, but instead athletes will complete two laps.

Age Requirements
- The 2.4 mile swim has a minimum age of 18
- The 1.2 mile swim the minimum age is 14
- Please be aware that all swimmers under 18 must have a Parental Consent Form completed.

How is the start organised at the Wales Swim?
It is a mass start, so you will need to get into position prior to the starting gun. Quicker swimmers near the front and slower ones at the back.
Are there any age requirements at the Wales Swim?
Swimmers fro the 2.4 mile must be aged 18 or older. Swimmers in the 1.2 mile must be 14 or older.
Do I have to wear a wetsuit a the Wales Swim?
Yes, wetsuits are mandatory at this event. It must not be thicker than 5mm.
Do I have to wear a swim cap at the Wales Swim?
Yes, swim caps are mandatory - Activity Wales will provide the cap.
