Committing oneself, to running around Mont-Blanc, is above all to experience an internal adventure, an unique experience where each participant will have to draw from their strengths and push their mental and physical limits in order to cross the finishing line. This extraordinary trip at the heart of the massif will permit trail-runners to cross valleys and passes in contact with the most beautiful summits, in an alpine dcor which is unique in the world.

To participate or assist with the UTMB, is to vibrate to the rhythm of the trail-running planet and to share an extraordinary festival at the heart of a territory which has been mobilised for the occasion. 2 000 volunteers from 15 different countries, 19 French, Italian and Swiss communes within the Mont-Blanc country all working for the success of the event and supporting the UTMB runners. 16 000 supporters who are coming to encourage their nearest and dearest and more than 50 000 spectators who will visit the salon and participate in the animations in all the villages of the Mont-Blanc country.

145K D +: even more emotions, even more challenge
Go exploring Beaufortain!

The 11th edition of the TDS ® promises to be historic: more beautiful, more technical, more alive, it is a new adventure that awaits the runners with an enlarged passage in the Beaufortain.

A crossing under the sign of sharing and discovery, to meet the inhabitants of the valley, their know-how, their trails, but also and their natural and gastronomic heritage. With this incursion in the heart of the Beaufortain, the race that starts on the Traces of the Dukes of Savoy (TDS ® ) has never worn its name and its attachment to the territory. As for the challenge, it has never been so exciting and beautiful, raised and technical, wild and unusual.

Drawn by the board UTMB ® course based on the expertise of the local stage, Thierry Bochet, brilliant finisher of the PTL ® , the new course, which enters the heart of the Savoy, will pass through the must-see places of the massif such as the Pas d'Outray, a veritable belvedere of the Beaufortain, with its breathtaking view of the Pierra Menta and the Grand Mont , mythical places of ski-mountaineering, but also Mount Vorès and its alpine and green atmosphere where graze the Tarines and Abondances. Without forgetting the panoramas on the mythical lakes of the valley at the passage of the Gittaz, transporting the runners in full heart of the solid mass.

With its landscapes that the whole world envy us and its many remarkable points of passage (the Passeur de Pralognan, the Col de la Sauce or the passage of the Cure), the TDS ® is more than ever a race of international class and, l adventure of a lifetime.

Kit List

In order to ensure their security and the good progress of the each event, each participant must have at their disposal the all the obligatory equipment on the list, detailed below.
The  “heat-wave”, “winter” and “bad weather” kits are integrally a part of the obligatory equipment. According to the weather conditions, the organisers can activate a kit and inform each participant before the opening of the race-bib distribution for their race. Each participant must therefore present their obligatory equipment, including the kit activated by the organisers, in order to  retrieve  their race-bib, and agree to keep it with them throughout the event.

It is important to note that the material imposed by the organisers is a vital minimum which each trail-runner must adapt in function to their own capacities.  In particular, they must not chose the lightest weight clothing possible in order to gain a few grammes, but opt for clothing which really offers good protection in the mountains against the cold, wind and snow, which therefore give better security and a better performance.

Basic kit

  • Pack destined to transport obligatory equipment throughout the race.

    – the jacket must not have sections of fabric which are not waterproof, but air vents fitted by the manufacturer (under-arm, in the back), since they do not damage in any obvious way the impermeability, are accepted.

FAQs

Why is registration carried out uniquely by internet?

Taking in to account the very large number of requests, it is the only way that they can be handled efficiently and fairly.

Is there a waiting list?

There is no waiting list. The majority of withdrawals are made as late as possible, it is not conceivable to participate in a race without having prepared for it. Registration is managed by over-booking, that's to say that we take more runners at registration than there are places available so as to anticipate those who cancel. Like this all runners have the same time in which to prepare themselves.

Can I register for more than one race at a time in order to increase my chances of running?

No, you can only select one race. Any double entry is identified and cancelled.
