Last year the race was cancelled due to heavy snow fall so this was James Cracknell's first 'crack' at organising the North Somerset half. Well organised and well marshalled, the race headed out southwards to picturesque Uphill Castle and then coming back to the seafront, passing the pier and making up the distance along the Kewstoke road before finishing on the pier. The Kewstoke section was quite boring and unnecessary as these 3 or 4 mile could have been incorporated elsewhere. The finish was anticlimatical because the crowds were cheering along the promenade. Not bad though.

Oh indo like to be besdie the seaside ! Decided last minute to run Weston Super Mare half today after missing a few weeks training due to chest infection lurgy - what a great new race , multi terrain with beach run, lumpy roller coster in back 4 miles, but the finishers fish & chip dinner on pier, medal & tshirt were quality.
Good local support, attentive marshals and pacers spot on target.
Not my fastest but a fun and unique first race which was cancelled last year due to snow.
The beach run added interest and the run down the pier a quarter of a mile over the sea was amazing and different.
Massage and fish & chip dinner after collection of quality medal and tshirt
The sun shone and we saw Weston at its best

Very well organised race. Great to run along the seafront and finish on the pier! Noce medal and t shirt. Only criticism would be that some of the cups at water stations were either too full or not full enough. But a bery minor thing for an otherwise great race!
