Route information
Starting just outside Warwick south of Birmingham, this is the perfect chance for Birmingham sportive hunters to ply their trade. After leaving the county town you’ll head straight onwards on one of several of the ride’s Roman roads, passing Wolverton and eventually turning off at Little Alne on what will have been plain sailing so far, as far as any gain in gradient is concerned.
Looping around, you’ll continue on the fast and technical small country lanes until reaching the first feed stop in Binton. Back in the saddle, it’s back onto the long and straight roads as you edge away at the miles. On the longest straight section of the course, which passes through Honeybourne, a village typical of the area, you’ll take on the biggest climb of the ride, which peaks at around 750ft of elevation gain.
The rest of the ride will feel more broken up after taking on the long straight, as you’ll pass through a number of sleepy villages on the way back to the Warwick ride HQ, where you’ll receive a finisher’s medal and recovery product on completion of the ride. It’s a tough day out on the longest distance but very rewarding all the same.
